Outside of the trolling, you do have to wonder how much Saban has left in the tank for all this.
NIL and portal has changed the landscape, makes it harder to deconstruct and rebuild an incoming freshman. They will transfer out now, if you try to do that, and you don't have an elite program worth staying at.
He's probably losing Bryce Young, doesn't necessarily have the next "IT" qb in line. No longer has the hottest scheme to lure him in.
Kirby has made UGA a legit threat to take the conference from him, Kiffin has been damn annoying at mid-tier Ole Miss and might jump to Auburn, and now Kelly has come to LSU looking to check that championship box off his resume. And Tennessee is no longer a gimme on the schedule anymore, either.
That's a lot of strain on a 70+ yr old, who has met or exceeded damn near every goal he set for himself. I think he's looked a lot older the past year or so, I think it's catching up with him. And from what little I've seen, he's not as hands-on with the defense as he used to be; that was once his baby. Now he seems to be just managing the team, instead of "coaching it up" like he once did.
The joy might be gone from the game for him, and I could see him calling it a day before things truly slide. If he left now, his legacy is intact. If he waits a few more years and UGA wins the majority of conference titles, he starts to look like he's just hanging on as a shadow of his former self.
The Tide should finish out 11-2; might be a good final season should he decide it's time.

Brian Kelly couldn’t even beat Saban in regulation at home. Saban is essentially the worst coach in the league and it took an overtime roll of the dice for Kelly to beat him. Sad.
