Wait a minute, you guys aren't really a "family" are you???
Based off of the recent armed burglary, I would say it is more of an organized crime family.
I mean it is not like this is some isolated incident where one rogue individual crossed the line. We are talking 4 players, one being a returning senior leader, who sat down, came up with a plan, and came to an agreement to break in at gun point to rob what is likely to be a drug dealer. These guys weren't in the "wrong place, wrong time." This is practically a gang we are talking about here.
I'm not one to promote negative recruiting, but in this instance I hope every coach competing with Auburn for a recruit brings this up to the parents. If Auburn is going to paint themselves as the Christian family atmosphere alternative to college football, then they need to have this shoved in their faces. The parents need to know what a bunch of BS this family and God line is. Time to eat the crow.

after thinking about it more, i doubt it was a drug dealer.. people involved with drugs usually wont call the cops if they are robbed, the 4 players will then have something against them as well.

dont be a fool. this is far from a gang.

just because coach chizik preaches Christianity doesnt mean the players are going to abide by it. They might act great around coaches and then just go crazy when they are alone. coaches cant keep these kids locked down 24/7

it is not BS. coach chizik firmly believes in Christ. All of his assistants are also Christians. Just because 4 dumbasses went and robbed someone at gunpoint(just like the alabama player a couple years ago), doesnt mean the whole program is a bunch of thugs.

I agree. But they need to stop acting like AU can provide a more Christian atmosphere than other schools. I think 5 players arrested in 2 weeks, 4 of whom will be looking at hard prison time, is proof of that.

just like i said above, you cant look at 4 players and say the whole university represents those kind of actions.

Well by your logic then, you cannot look at the coach and a few assistants and say they represent the whole university with their actions. Seems like a double standard.

I get that, and like I said above, this proves that AU is not some kind of haven for Christian athletes. The coaches need to stop selling the Christian family line if these are the results.

Dang !!!Why does my team never have multiple players going up for Premium Grade Felonies?
Auburn just loves to hog the spotlight!!

Toss Up since the Football team is both.

But one coach can represent the whole institution and everything it represents. Actions are louder than words. Chiz kept a guy on for 2 yrs that was engaged in violent behavior with a win at all cost attitude. He presented Auburn as this huge family and how great it was and how close the players and students are. When you have 5 players arrested, 4 of which are felonies, that DOES represent the University and lays it on the feet of Chiz with all the crap he's spewed off this year. Family and Au values are, in his words... "garbage".

Are you freakin' serious?
I think breaking into a house at midnight with guns and stealing a crapload of stuff is pretty self-explanatory.
What side of the story do you want Chizik to wait on?
"Well, actually coach, I broke into the house, but I was just gonna sit on their couch and watch some TV. Honest."

Dude, shut up. You sound like a moron.
When one of your own decided to be an idiot and poison our trees, all we heard from Bammers was how one bad apple didn't represent the entire bunch.
Now 4 players off an 85-man football team go and make a terrible decision, and all of a sudden their actions represent our entire university and coaches??
GTFO w/ your hypocrital garbage.

Hold up lil fella there is a huge difference in those situations. Saban didn't recruit the idiot that poisoned the trees, whereas your coach hand picked these felons to represent your University. NO RIGHTFUL COMPARISON EXCEPT ALL THESE DUDES ARE DUMB. Besides that the 2 have nothing in common.

Whatever, tired of arguing with AU fans about the seemingly never ending supply of questionable and objectionable news coming out of the plains.

Guy had no affiliation to the program other than being a fanatical guy with a previous record. Your coach actively recruited the folks that committed this crime and at every opportunity this year, talked about how they did things the "right way" at Auburn, how much the "Auburn family" stuck together and how great it was that they did. And it was 5 people in less than 2 weeks that was arrested. And what is this about 85? I thought yall were under, so it would be a larger pecentage. Au has been on a downward spiral in the public eye for the last five months, all the while thumbing their noses and refusing to address issues, other than "that's garbage", "they're great people" and the like. When you're gonna be that outspoken and flippant about things, expect the backlash when something this huge goes down.

1) Chizik didn't recruit McNeil or Smith. He recruited the three freshmen.
2) Typical Bammer deflection response.

He kept Smith on after pleading guilty in a court of law for a violent act and only sat him one game. Plus felony arrests on 3 he did. Not even mentioning taking in a QB that had been arrested for a felony, which has led to the investigations.

No deflection here. You tried to with Updyke. Fact remains that Chiz preached all in, values, tightness of the team and the family. Now it's biting him in the arse with the explosion of arrests and investigations. Can't back out of the all in now.
