Yeah, there were some head-scratchers there for sure.

The Ole Miss "clock it" was just unreal. And losing twice to Bret "Moon Moon" Bielema should have never happened for LSU at all.

But, overall, I think Les was a good coach for LSU. He just had the bad luck of being in the same division as Bama (on top of the things I mentioned above.) Had Saban not come to Bama, LSU wins the National Championship in 2011. That would be multiple SEC titles and at least two national championships.

Obviously if we win on 1/9 that's a game changer for Les. So in that one area yeah Bama had something to do with it.

Les also just would not change his offensive philosophy. Both he and Saban were basically running the same offense until the 9-6 game. Saban realized he needed to change, Les never did.

He was a great coach for us for a long time, but it was time.

Didn't expect us to go out and hire a worse coach though

Lea Miles is the most overrated coach of the generation. Sorry it doesn't fit your agenda.

Problem is the lack of named brand coaches. The league used to have Tommy Tuberville, Les Miles, Bobby Petrino, Mark Richt, Steve Spurrier, Urban Cryer, and Phillip Fulmer. Even Hugh Freeze is gone. He was considered by many to be in the top 3 of current SEC coaches.

Les Miles refusing to fire Cameron is what got Les fired. He would still be here other wise.

This. Saban has killed the SEC in so much as he has made it where fans are legitimately unable to enjoy football after their team's second loss. No one has any patience anymore and want a good head coach's head on a spike after one bad year.

Edit: Soaring coaches salaries also contribute to this. The more a coach is paid, the less leniency he will be granted. It comes with the territory. Vince Dooley lasted 16 or so years to win the NC in 1980 because he was paid a fraction of what Richt was, even with inflation considered.

I agree but I am sick of the idea that saban destroyed the conference.

He has nothing to do with Butch Jones needing heroics to beat UMass, McElwain needing heroic to beat Kentucky, Gus struggling vs Mercer, and Muschamp getting lucky vs La Tech.

Not to mention Sumlin and Bielma just sucking.

Bad coaching is our problem.

It's not Saban that has the SEC down it's the NCAA. They let Alabama get away with murder, and every coach knows that. So why would a Coach come to the SEC knowing he's not on a level playing field. Then when They try to get a level playing field the NCAA comes sniffing around

You say this shite yet if Miles beats Bama in 2012 and 2014 he is still your coach today. Deny it....

What agenda? I mean LSU did replace Miles with someone who is a worse coach than Miles (Les was not a bad coach really.) It's weird.

Alabama has now won 18 consecutive against SEC opponents by an average of 23.1 points.

I think all the SEC school's should agree to rename their stadiums "Nick Saban's stadium" if he will please leave.

I'll agree that if Les pulls through in 2012 and 2014 and beats Bama, he'd still be our coach. That's 100% true.

Some think the conference is down and instead of blaming the programs that suck they want to blame the one program making the playoffs every year so far. What the hell kind of logic is that? If the conference is down you can blame Mizzou they suck the worse. You can blame the traditional powers who aren't what they should be, UT, LSU, and UF. Bama has been pulling their weight, they are carrying everybody except UGA and Auburn right now. If your school fired a good coach and hired a bad one. That is on your school, not Alabama. If your school has unrealistic expectations, that is on your school, not Alabama. Nick Saban is the best thing the SEC has going for it right now.
