Hope you get boat raced. But I don’t think you will. I think Brent Key is a good coach. And Haynes King is a good QB. And your offensive coordinator, Buster Faulkner is a great coach as well. Unfortunately, I think GT is on the rise.

Why wouldn’t he and why does it bother you so much? The truth is always somewhere in the middle.

And only Tennessee fans want to gloss over Felony Assault that carries a sentence of 3-15 years and say 2 game suspension is being proactive.

Who’s glossing over it? A drunk dude broke in the wrong apartment and when escalated the situation he got hit in the mouth. The player was wrong for hitting him outside the apartment. He should not have followed him. He was in the wrong and was punished. He sat multiple games and got probation.

Note it was handled and UT didn’t see 20 something similar incidents.

Maybe you should use that as a teachable moment. Instead of worrying about a dark episode in UTs past you can take away the fact that promptly and adequately addressing the issues when the begin can help avoid seeing the episodes escalate. Maybe if Kirby had addressed these issues when the player and staffer were killed by these actions we wouldn’t be discussing them now.

He refuses to do the necessary work to prove his point, runs away after his ideas get thrashed, and then he pops back up in another thread repeating the same already refuted nonsense. Like a broken record.

A real man, someone who isnt a coward, wouldnt run away so often. Dont mistake me pointing that out as being bothered by it. Rather, I find it amusing and satisfying.

Well, You did say that a two game suspension was being proactive and about the right punishment while the law said a 3-15 year sentence was appropriate.

quote:

A drunk dude broke in the wrong apartment and when escalated the situation he got hit in the mouth.
But he didn't escalate it. He was pushed out of the apartment by McCollough and then McCollough closed the door. McCollough then opened the door walked down the hall after the drunk guy and hit him, knocking him down some stairs. It's all right there in news articles. I've shown you several times.

You seem to be confused about the whole affair.

Here is your account and how it has changed:

1. The drunk guy broke into McCoolough's girlfirend's apartment and McCollough was defending her.
I pointed out that McCollough and his roommate said ti was their apartment.

2. You then claimed the drunk broke into the apartmen.
I pointed out that the door was open and the drunk walked in.

3. You claimed that the drunk refused to leave.
I pointed out that McCollough's roommate said McCollough pushed the drunk out of the apartment and closed the door.

4. You claimed that the drunk became aggressive and forced his way back into the apartment.
I pointed out that The door had been closed and McCollough opened the door back up and hit the guy breaking out several teeth.

It was handled. Hmmm...let's look at this closer. Tennessee sat him for two games. The law said he could be put away for 3-15 years. So, he was the least culpable he would have gotten 3 years, not two games. But Tennessee left a felon on the team for the rest of the year. He played 6 more games after the incident.

What is really ironic...is the Tennessee student conduct board cleared him, saying his conduct was within the "Student Code of Conduct" for a Tennessee students conduct. (This part, given the history of Tennessee football players is not really surprising)

Drunk dude broke into an apartment (I was mistaken about it being his girlfriends, it happened years ago) and became belligerent, refused to leave, was pushed out, became even more aggressive, McCollough made the mistake of making him leave instead of calling the cops, and hit him. He was wrong to leave the apartment, he was punished, sat multiple games and got probation.

UGA could have handled their early issues like that and avoided being in the news, attacking newspapers and journalists, saved 2 lives, etc. but they chose to pretend it’s just a little speeding.

The only thing that changed was the fact it was his apartment (his GF was present).

Here is the actual story:

The man was looking for a friend's apartment when he knocked on the door to McCollough's apartment.

He said opened the unlocked door and started to walk in and was confronted by McCollough.

McCollough backed the man out of the apartment and shut the door.

The man then became more aggressive and threatened to come back inside

McCollough then came back outside and punched him.

The assault left the man bloody, swollen mouth and multiple broken and missing teeth.

So your solution is for as soon as anybody got a speeding ticket kick them off the team? Let's not pretend that James Pearce, who is still on the UT team refused to obey police officers, drove with a suspended license,
going 63 MPH in a 35 MPH zone, and had no proof of insurance.

Mind you, in a 4 month time frame 3 other Vol players had been arrested or ticketed for DUI, reckless driving, etc.

Desean Bishop(Reckless driving, Doneiko Slaughter (Who crossed a median/highway divider and reckless driving?) and Chandavian Bradley (Reckless driving)

But don't worry....UT's Atheltic Department said it was also aware of those two incidents and "handled them internally." Code for....no punishment.

Sounds to me like Tennessee better get a handle on their own problems.
And i haven't even gone into the the problems from their men's and women's basketball teams. It is definitely a cultural problem at the University of Tennessee. They have been covering up for their athletes since the early 2000's so much a federal investigation was launched, and apparently they still haven't learned a lesson.

Street racing 1st offense is a game.

After the UGA player street racing killed 2 it should be

reckless driving is a game 2nd offense is 6 games.

DUI 3 games 2nd is gone

Speeding 1 st offense 1/2 a game 2nd offense 2 games

Speeding with a wreck 2 games 2nd 6 games

A reasonable response after 2 deaths in the program.
