TCU
Houston
Kansas State
Baylor
Iowa State

Average recruiting ranking of those programs over the last decade? 54th, lower than the average ranking of every single current SEC program including Vanderbilt.

This is the equivalent of LSU losing 11 games in 9 years to Kentucky and Vanderbilt…except worse because those teams generally have more raw talent.

You boys ain’t in Kansas anymore

And I didn’t include a similar comparison for Texas because I’m not that mean. Needless to say it’s gruesome.

They are going to ruin our SOS.

Also bowl games don't matter unless we win.

Lincoln Riley is a hell of a coach

Oklahoma is recruiting at a good level - usually top 10ish

But they have no clue what they’re in for.

I don’t see them falling off a cliff like Tennessee but I think they’ll be Florida’s level.

8-10 wins every year and make a run at the SEC title every 4-5 years

I’ve said it elsewhere but I think it is just as likely that the SEC does for the OU recruiting brand what they need to get the other half of a football team win a national title.

They identify talent and recruit well on offense. Defense is untalented. If they continue to show improvement on being a sound defense maybe the SEC brand for producing NFL defenders gets them a few difference makers?

They’re a helluva lot closer to do it than Texas. I think they’re in for a rude welcome.

I think the opposite is going to happen.

I think when they slide to the middle of the pack they’re recruiting Will take a slight dip

I can’t argue with you about it because it is all supposition and it truly could go either way. I can see it your way too.

OU will have to fundamentally change what they do on offense to have a truly good defense. Even with all their talent on defense, talent OU will never come close to matching, Bama took a decent step back on defense after Saban’s philosophy change. Now they have SO much talent it doesn’t matter, but you can’t have a great defense with an offense that operates at that pace.
