Use google sometime.

I use it quite often.

I just thought you'd extend the courtesy of providing a link, since I did with your earlier post asking where they were going to put the stadium.

Now, after reading the link you so generously included...I'm gathering that UAB is spending their money on their football program, not UA's.

You mean the medical school. Regardless, The University of Alabama is the largest employer in the state of Alabama. That's UA-Tuscaloosa.

There are contradicting numbers in many of the links I've brought up. Some list UAB as #1, others the US Army. While others pool the UA System together.

And it seems it's not UAB either. We're both wrong.

It seems to me that UA doesnt want UAB to be a player in football. I think it would be a win-win situation for the UA System.

Why? once UAB gets an on campus stadium they will be a competitor for bowl games every year. If it's because they lose money so does pretty much every other college.

I dont care if they are. Theyre never gonna compete with us unless we are way down again.

I don't see how it would benefit them to go it alone. State appropriations would be the same, but they would lose access to the UA system money, which would likely leave them with a smaller budget. Their academics (outside of the grad med programs) aren't strong enough to stand alone either, honestly.

Being in a system is beneficial.

Again. There seems to be confusion as to which entity is actually the largest employer in Alabama. I was told several years ago that UA was, but that may have meant the UA System. There have been links in this thread to suggest UAB and Redston Arsenal. So, I have no clue now.
