He will not be left to stick around when he’s fired. It will be Hoke or Fulmer coaching the rest of the season.

The selfish part of me wants him fired after this weekend so the Grumors can really pick up but it would be best if we wait until after TSIO.

I do NOT want the Battle Captain's first game back in a decade to be a 3:30 slaughtering on CBS

Fahr him after the loss this week and let lard arse Hoke lead VOLS against bama.

I don't want butch to be around any longer than he has to.

The Battle Captain leading VOLS to a win over Bama would lead to a level of internetting I don’t believe anyone in the college football world would be prepared for.

Unfortunately he would also likely be the new HC.

How the hell can you get rid of him? Why would you want to?

I never root against UT, but am comfortable in the knowledge that Butch will pull out the FINISH HIM move on himself.

No matter what happens in the next couple of games, UT is not going to fire Butch until mid-November at the earliest. In many ways, that's smart. They aren't going to give Brady Hoke a chance to win a few games against also-rans and somehow dumb luck his way into getting the full-time gig.

No one on the schedule after Bama would provide someone the opportunity to earn the job.

Although it is likely Fulmer will be the interim.

Why is that? Not doubting the possibility, just not sure why UT would go that route.

And really, the Brady Hoke comment was more of a joke. I mean, come on. Who in their right mind would hire their defensive line coach, who had already failed as a head coach, just because he beat a few mediocre teams? That'd be nutty.

There were a lot of dynamics to Currie, Fulmer and Blackburn angling for the AD job. Let’s just say there were some conversations had about this possibility during the search and concessions made from different factions.

If true, that wouldn't leave me with a lot of confidence in the decision-makers in Knoxville. Though I suppose no confidence was warranted long before now.

Fire him this week and put Fulmer as the interim, I need some more payback.

The answer to should Butch be fired will always be yes. Much like Bert. He's worn his welcome out.

If it goes much longer I expect to see priests on the sideline throwing holy water on the man while chanting "The power of Christ compels you! The power of Christ compels you!"

Nobody wants a full blown exorcism.

He won't get fired this week or next week. They got pounded at home last year by Bama and the UT fans left at the end of the 1st quarter, so it's expected.

If they continue to lose after that, he might be fired before they come to mid November.

What benefit is it to fire him now anyway?

I hope he doesn't get fired before the Butch vs O coaching showdown.

I will buy you and your geriatric father in law season tickets next season if he loses the next two weeks and remains the head coach.
