How dumb do people have to be to upvote this. Out of 53 superbowls, 2 winning qbs have been black. So disingenuous to say that has no value

How dumb to people have to be to completely ignore the fact that for decades black athletes had so few chances to play quarterback at any level? How dumb do people have to be to ignore that only 29 distinct white quarterbacks have won a Super Bowl? Or that 13 teams started their first black quarterback in the last 20 years? Or that 11 teams only did so this century? Or that 1 team did just 2 years ago? Or that there were 6 black quarterbacks starting in the league last season and that 5 of them made the playoffs? Or that the reigning MVP is a black quarterback? Or that Campbell said something really dumb and that all sorts of posters are responding in kind?

Coaches want to win....their jobs depend on it.
A coach that sits a superior player because of their skin color is the ultimate dumbass.... 95% of coaches will play the player that gives their team the best chance to win

A blatantly racist moron has-been. Don’t care about his legendary status at Texas. I’m sure the racial apologists will sweep it under the rug but this is beyond stupid. It should be socially unacceptable to say something this dumb. And if Campbell was another race, he would have been shunned already.

Some responses in this thread smack of dog whistle racism. Obviously Campbell is wrong, as in incorrect, but the tone of some of the posts seems familiar to me.

Mattloc is correct. No coach is going to sit a guy who provides his team the best chance to win games. Unless he wants to get fired because of a buyout in a contract or some other vendetta/axe to grind. But those instances are so rare, it’s not even worth discussing. If a black guy is ultra talented and a white guy is ultra talented but maybe is lacking slightly in athleticism then the black guy will play. As a coach you look for every single tangible and intangible that a recruit will bring. Ehlinger is a damn good QB and the ultimate competitor. Looking at Texas’ defensive backs who can’t tackle, would he say that maybe they need different players on that side of the ball?

We are not ignoring those facts.

We just don't give a frick. Do you understand? Stick that race card up your mealy-mouthed arse.

We don't care about 50 years ago. We don't owe anyone shite for those times.

Do you understand? WE DON'T GIVE A frick!

You're absolutely correct on all points. And if people knew how much players forced their coaches into recruiting certain players, playing certain players or how often particular players sabotage their own qb because of the same mentality Earl has shown!

Happens all across the country included high school and the pros. Oakland raiders oline almost got their qb killed because of their racist shiat.

Over the last 35 years, I would agree. But where were quality black quarterbacks going to come from prior to the last few decades? They weren’t getting chances to start at lower levels to reach elite status for most of football history. Now they are. And now they are performing at elite levels. My only point was due to that historical scarcity of opportunities, as well as other factors (surrounding teammates, etc.), a racial breakdown of Super Bowl winning quarterbacks is, statistically speaking, virtually meaningless. Not that Campbell’s statement wasn’t ignorant.

You clearly don’t. Perhaps that’s why you’re putting words in my mouth and completely ignoring my point.

He’s not wrong. UGA would be undefeated if they were starting Fields instead of Fromm

I know where you are coming from with this, but it’s impossible to know that. It could be correct but then again, if he takes off on a run when a play breaks down, who’s to say that a ND linebacker or Game cock defensive player wouldn’t have sidelined him with a big hit? He’s been fortunate that OSU has a dominating o-line and he hasn’t ran as much as his skill set would have people believe. But UGA has been known to have a great o-line as well.

Fields was not right for the offense UGA runs and the offense was not right for him either. He absolutely made the right choice for his career when he transferred.

It’s 2019. Which appears to be an awful year for reading comprehension.
