I caught the 30 for 30 on Shaq and Dale Brown and came away very impressed.

I was never the biggest fan of Shaq and I have no idea why. Don’t dislike him but just always liked other players better.

However, after watching this show, I am a big fan of his. Two moments were most touching to me.

1. The respect that Shaq had for his mom and stepdad to come back to school for his junior year. He would likely have been the number 1 pick but he came back to LSU on their recommendation.

2. The way he described his free throw woes. How he always wanted to please others and be liked and when he would miss a free throw- he would look at the fans reactions of disappointment and psych himself out on the next ones.

He really seems to be a good guy and a great representative of LSU and the SEC.

Much (albeit delayed) respect to LSU and Shaq.

So disappointing that Shaq, Chris Jackson, and Stanley Robinson couldn’t get along just for one year. Could have been one of the GOAT college basketball teams, as we beat the eventual national champs UNLV that year at the PMAC. I know that they really regret the way they acted towards each other now looking back on it.

I really enjoyed watching him play for his 3 years. I was a freshman at LSU when Shaq was a freshman. Love Shaq. He has truly been one of the best ambassadors LSU has had.
