It was a basketball game.
There was only one time in history where beating you in football was a big deal and we did just that. Now it’s more of a “don’t f this up” that actually gives you an edge NGL.

Missouri vs kansas is an even series because both programs have had historically shitty stretches that allowed the other to feed off of a rotting carcass of a football program.
Ours was the mid 80s to mid 90s. Your stretch has mainly been my entire lifetime, with a good year or two sprinkled in. In the 60s, kansas had good teams with damn good players(avatar picturing one of them), hence a true back and forth rivalry.
