We’ve had 17 years of sheer excellence so obviously anyone who is compared to Saban isn’t going to measure up (though we also felt that way about Bear Bryant, to be fair) but I’m actually excited and welcoming this new hire. It’s a tough landscape in CFB but the program Saban put together is still pretty solid. Whoever inherits it is pretty set, it’s theirs to win or lose.
Also, people comparing DeBoer to Harsin are forgetting that Harsin inherited Chris Peterson’s Boise State. DeBoer seems to have some level of coaching skill because he inherited Jimmy Lake’s Washington team that went from winning 4 games in 2021 to 11 the next year under his direction, so any coach that shows that level of turnaround has to have some potential. With the 12-team playoff I think shooting for at least a 10-win season in the SEC gets you a spot to contend. But who knows, maybe things are a crapshoot and total bust for him, but I think odds are in his favor to do decent, and either the majority of yall are just trolling, but I think most event outside of Bama fans would be able to agree this is a very good hire for Alabama, all things considered.

They're all overplaying their hands with this.
I don't think anyone's afraid but some rivals really thought Alabama would blow this hire and they didn't and now they're announcing how happy they are with the hire.
