Of course you could have. You only played 3 teams with a winning record that year (4 with the bowl game). And only beat one team with a winning record during the course of the regular season!
Your only win against a team with a winning record in the regular season was 8-4 ole miss.
The only two other teams you played that finished with winning records were Alabama (L),
Arkansas (L) and Clemson (W). Mississippi State probably had the easiest schedule in modern SEC history that year.

In 2006, what if OM got some good bounces and wins close games with UGA, LSU, and Auburn? We would have been 7-5 and the Caveman might have had more margin for error.....a thought that is terrifying to me.
FWIW we got screwed big time vs UGA in Oxford that year. Still makes me sick.

So when a bad call gets made someone must have paid the refs? How much did ya'll slip the refs in 06 for that non pass intererence call?
