King will be the starter for A&M

True.

That might move the Aggies down the rankings though. He threw 3 picks against Kent State.

At one time you had quality posts, but that didn’t last….

People are sleeping on Luke Altmyer. He was a legit qb recruit who if he doesn’t start next year will be tough to beat going into year three under kiff.

Everyone on the ole miss side assuming it goes: Transfer qb (1,2 years), Arch.

You shouldn’t have gotten your hopes up. I have always been what I will always be.

It’s kind of rude to leave A&M off the list. I forgive you though.

Where exactly do you think he's going to be playing to do that?

We don't yet - there is some competition but he is our top target.

Makes me feel better that Auburn and A&M feel the way they do about these two QBs on their team!

I sure hope not Ole Miss. That would make me uncomfortable.

King did not play enough games for a fair comparison to Calzada but he was not setting the world on fire in his first two games against two teams that were not exactly juggernauts.

Calzada was thunderously average, don't get me wrong, but I'm not sure A&M beats Bama with King at QB. If they had lost that game the entire season could have crashed and burned.

King and Johnson will compete for the starting Job. Weigman will redshirt.

I expect King will win with an extra year of practice and development. I don't think he was ready last year, and his injury basically gave him the red shirt year he needed.

But if he hasn't progressed and remains turnover/injury prone, Johnson is a decent plug and play backup option to have. He can move the chains reliably enough to open up the run game, which is all we really need from a QB.
