I liked Croom and he did seem like a nice guy. I don't blame MSU for giving him the chance, but it just didn't work out.

This got me thinking about race and SEC schools. I looked it up. MSU is by far the blackest school in the SEC. Over 20%.

Most SEC schools are between 7 and 15 percent. (Bama is 11.2%)

Auburn is atrocious. 0.8%. By far the worst.

Why do you think they tell the OTM kids..

Croom beat Zook and it was the last nail in his coffin. Then we got Meyer. Croom is cool with me.

They tried making it seem like Croom would have won 2 national titles by now if he let criminals play for him.

I'm not buying it.

Good guy, though.

I'm still waiting on us to press charges on him for stealing from us. He is the laziest piece of shite in the nation. He fell asleep in a recruits house, he left recruiting visits on the table several times, he said he would have to be fired before he would fire any of his coaches, he said Maine was a better team than us, he would sit his arse on a golf cart all practice, he help me witness the worst beat downs I've ever seen. I actually hoped Ole Miss beat us as bad as they could in that last Egg Bowl. I knew that was the only way we would get rid of him.

Let's combine this:

quote:

Sylvester Croom was a great role model for people if you want your role model to constantly blame others for your failures, complain about everything, be stubborn as shite, be comically lazy, and accept mediocrity.

And this:

To ruin all of you assholes who thought Croom was a "role model" and a "great man."

Sure.

A. Refused to change his offensive schemes to one that would actually work in the SEC
B. Promoted personal friends to coordinator positions that couldn't coach worth a damn.
C. Never took any kind of responsibility for the product on the field.
D. Never missed an opportunity to throw kids under the bus when we lost games. Stated to reporters once: "look I can't go out there and run the plays for them".
E. Constantly stating that it would take decades of his carefully orchistrated plans to put together a team that could possibly compete for an SEC title.
F. Appeared lazy in the minds of many people at State, dodged responsibilities of recruiting on a regular basis.
G. Never giving a clearly defined goal for where his teams or program was headed. Always said that greatness was still "several years away".
H. Acted as if he was so great that we would settle for his mediocrity and never force him out.

Just once. To be "Croomed", ones coach is fired after a loss. That 2006 loss was the end for Mike Shula. Mississippi State did beat Alabama again in 2007, but Nick Saban is still alive and well.

He would have won somewhere like Alabama. MSU is not a good measuring stick for a head coach because it is a flop of a program.

bullshite.

Jackie before Croom won...even took us to the SECCG. Mullen is doing a very good job winning with State.

Croom was not a good head coach, he was lazy, a bad recruiter, and too loyal to shitty assistants. He had one decent season and that was all b/c of Ellis Johnson at DC which was the only assistant coach he ever had worth a damn.
