The SEC will be the first conference in history to put four teams into the playoffs.

They're also reportedly "courting" teams from the ACC and Big 12 should those conferences elect not to play the season.

I’ve told my yankee family members repeatedly. The SEC will hold out until the bitter end.

Simple solution.

Let the sec, acc, and big 12 play if that want. Take those 3 conference champs plus 1 extra team of the committee's choosing and still have a 4 team playoff. The PAC is irrelevant so the only real difference from a normal season would be not having Ohio State in the playoffs.

The result here should be creation of a Southern super conference.

Current SEC plus UT and OU, plus Clemmy and FSU.

No way the NCAA or any other conference dictates terms to that conference. Play the damn season and let the chicken littles sideline themselves of they so choose.

Retarded. It may work for a one-off season but why the frick would that be the norm when things are back to normal?

“As far as pushback, yes there is plenty of pushback,” Finebaum said on the show. “I talked to an SEC source yesterday who said, ‘We’re still planning on playing. We have our schedule release coming up in a couple of days.’

Is this a coach or a president? I hope like hell we play but I’m super doubtful

Bc the NCAA is a joke and it needs the conferences/programs more than they need the NCAA. Time to flip the current model on its head and tell the NCAA to piss off.

This is such childish logic. This isn't a middle finger to the NCAA, it's a death blow to tbe sec. The sec is already harder than all frick to get through unscathed, and now you want to add ou/Tex/Clem/FSU? You realize that's only making things exponentially harder on sec teams?

People have been peddling this bullshite since 1991 when it was announced that we would be splitting into divisions starting in 1992. It's never come to pass. If anything, all it does is make it very difficult to go undefeated. As the playoffs expand (and they will) you are going to see two-loss teams start making it into the big dance.

Not really, you'd probably have 2 SEC teams in the playoffs every year. The SOS would be rewarded. If anything, it'd put more pressure on the Big 10 and PAC 12 to keep up or get left out.

The SEC became what it is by playing the best, not by shying away from competition or resisting opportunities to get better. Iron sharpens iron.

Some SEC schools have flourished with harder schedules. Some haven't.

Can you imagine the ratings the SEC will get being the only one's playing college football. Literally they could do to all the networks and say, hey, we got the good, pay more for the 2020 season. Especially if they just play football with no political stupid statements.
