Can you imagine how fantastic it would be to have a three year athletic scholarship? You get to travel all over the country playing football for free. Free dorm room. Free clothes. A buffet of eggs, bacon, waffles, fruit, steaks, shrimp, crab legs, hamburgers, spaghetti, pizza, etc. for every meal. After three years of luxury, they're scholarship is pulled. Then if they choose to do so, they can get a bachelor's degree for a couple of thousand dollars.

Meanwhile some college students don't have a pot to piss in. They have no social life because they have bills up to their eyeballs. Eating ramen noodle soup and cereal for every meal. And when they graduate, they get to payback student loans.

I'll take that three year scholarship every day of the week.

Not in accord with the NCAA's intent for the schollies "coach" doesn't.

The NCAA doesn't control the scholarship at a given university to a given athlete.

No, they don't.

But they can sure get all over your arse for not honoring them.

And they will be.

Real soon.

What's idiotic is that he wants to put and end to oversigning because these young men don't get a degree off of a one year commitment from the school, that the athlete agreed to up front.

If he had a half a brain he would want to get rid of scholarship limitations altogether so more athletes could get free educations. Then there would be no need to cut any player.

This is rational thinking and has no place in a thread like this one though.
