I would have a difficult time justifying a claim for the SEC to be the best conference last season and this. Every other season in recent memory, you bet.

No other conference has the power at the top. The SEC has 2 in the top 5 and 3 in the top 15. The out of conference record is great and we've got 10 bowl eligible teams. I don't think it's the strongest year but I can't see arguments for the other conferences.

ACC is always bad. Big East isn't great either.

Big 10 is a bit better than usual with Iowa playing well.

Big 12 is having a pretty bad year with OU down.

Pac 10 isn't nearly as strong with USC looking bad.

I really don't know how you could put another conference at number 1.

Pretty much all objective evidence says that the SEC is the best conference in CFB, and that margin is wider than it has been in several years.

Just check the computer models.

I'll start you out with Colley:

SEC is king, followed by the BEast, and then the Pac 10

I watch quite a bit of Pac10 football, there is no one great team. There are a few teams that could compete for third in the SEC this year. Any conference that has two teams go undefeated in regular season play has a power disparity, such as the SEC this year. The conference may be the best this season but I wouldn't argue the point with much conviction vs anyone.
