What if rumors of the lock out keep juniors in school?

I am not sure I want Mallett back to be honest. I feel like he limits our offense.

Maybe I am off base with that assumption?

I don't think the lockout happens, JMHO. That said, I'm nervous with Mallett all the time. Will he make a brilliant throw or will it be a pick?

You did that with a seasoned QB. I don't care how talented your next guy is, it won't be the same

Cobi Hamilton, Greg Childs, Joe Adams, Jarius Wright can make a lot of QBs look like 1st round draft picks.

So, in other words

You really cant come up with anything other than talking out of your arse.

Gotcha!

I'm going to guess that you're not well liked by anyone around here (including your own fan base)...

I have been hoping all season that Petrino would stop making him wear those weighted shoes.

Very possible IMO

I think Arkansas will be a good team dont get me wrong. Davis is a great RB, good WRs, and the line is solid; but to think you wont drop off offensively after losing a guy like Mallett is wishful thinking IMO.

Losing an NFL caliber QB isnt a "no big deal" type of situation, hes the best QB Arky will probably ever have.

The system is great, but theres always a transition period. 10-2 is a great year in the SEC, dropping only 1 game is tough as shite no matter the talent returning outside of QB.

Kelvin Sheppard, yeah. I think his lose will sting more than Peterson's as there's a lot more secondary talent than there is at LB.

See, for example: Florida and the shift from Tebow to Brantley...

It's not a matter of not expecting a scoring drop off; with the departure of a big armed guy like Mallett, even with a better running game with a more seasoned star RB, it's extremely likely the scoring output dips.

What will also dip, though, should be turnovers. Mallett took a large step backwards this year, in that regard, throwing 11 INTs. Worse than throwing them, was the sense of timing that he had in doing so. It's one thing if he was throwing a pick on a hail mary to end a half-- but of those 11 interceptions, 6 ended with the opposition with the ball in Arkansas territory, and one more within a few yards of the 50.

Now, I don't expect to see another 7 touchdowns of 70 yards or longer from the passing game, either. However, giving our defense short fields *should*, within reason, be at least slightly decreased. That will put our defense in better position to limit scoring, which will, in turn, allow us to stick more to our running game rather than having to chuck it. On the whole, we *should* be in a lot more 20-17 type SEC games, and fewer 38-31 type affairs.

We could have a better team and a worse record. Other teams will be better, and we play at Baton Rouge and Tuscaloosa.

Worth noting is that while we'll be green at a lot of spots, that the early date with Alabama may feature an Alabama offense that is nearly as green at skill positions if there is an exodus to the NFL.

Mind, Ingram or Richardson alone would make us a 10 point dog in Tuscaloosa in my mind, but if both left with Julio, it would look like an eminently more winnable affair in my mind.

I'll take a week 3 game against Saban's All Star Talent Brigade, over the prospect of facing them later in the year, any and every season.

Doesn't mean he won't declare for the draft, though.

Phenomenal talent, undeniably.

Actually I was telling somebody that I thought MS would be the darkhorse next year. It all starts with defense and I think MS is going to have a good one.

Richardson isn't going anywhere. He's only a sophomore. Hopefully we'll add Crowell to the stable too.
