The previous year '04 was bad 4-12, but 15 years prior to that the Dolphins were a good team, really good a few years. 2004 was their 1st losing season since '88. Saban was arse in the NFL, spin it however you want though

Simple...If you don't have an elite QB then you're not going to win shite!

quote:The difference between coaching college and pro football is like daylight to dark. It's entire structure is different....from how they initially acquire their players, down to the pecking order of the hierarchy!
Why is it some of the best SEC coaches of all time (Meyer, Saban, Spurrier) weren’t good enough to succeed at the highest level of football? Is it because they needed a huge talent advantage over their opponents? Not enough work ethic? Couldn’t boss around men like they can kids?
The only real similarities you'll find will be within the position coaches. Even the coordinators tend to be a little different breed of cat. I'm not saying that the occasional bright asst or coordinator can't undergo a metamorphosis and be successful at both, but it's rare as hell!

Saban is successful in college because his team always has the most talent. In the NFL, he didn't have that advantage.
