best case - Mettenberger plays well, team makes BCS NCG
worst case - JJ granted emergency reinstatement just prior to NCG

best case - win west or back into another BCS NCG
worst case - Saban jailed after flying into rage when road teams loop audio of "tiny dancer" for 3 consecutive hours

I think it's a pretty safe bet that there will not be another SEC vs. SEC championship game as long as there is no playoff.
It is obvious the nation disliked that choice, although it was the right one IMO.
But I had no problem cheering for Auburn against Oregon and I didnt have any problem cheering for Ark to beat Ohio State in the Sugar Bowl even though the shite the bed for all of us.
I agree cheering for Alabama is difficult. But the SEC as a whole, I want us to contine the dominance that we have built in this unprecedented streak.

My mindset was the same when we were winning fwiw. In the 90s I hoped Bama and Spurrier lost every game.

I honestly don't think I would cheer for Alabama if they played anyone else in the NC this year. I can't take that shite either.
But I'd really be okay with anyone else in the conference winning it. The plus side of Auburn winning was that Alabama fans hated it so much.
Georgia winning it would only tenure Mark Richt even more so (can't say that would be a bad thing). UF has no shot any time soon. Ark just screwed themselves.
I really do think we have the best shot this year. Alabama will be rebuilding that defense.

I guess I can understand LSU fans thinking here. They are part of the streak and have no rival in the league. When you have rivals involved and have done jackshit to contribute like us, there is no reason at all to cheer for your rival to win it all.

I have mixed feelings on the whole
Of course being a part of the toughest conference in the country is good for bragging rights at some level - but when it comes down to it if the rest of the conference went to hell and LSU was still on top I wouldn't be all that upset
