All three of these programs should be in the top half of the league every year. By sucking, they pull the strength of the whole conference down.

When did our basketball team become better the our football team?

Why? LSU is the only one with any kind of significant history. Kentucky, Florida, Arkansas, LSU and to some extent Alabama are the programs that the SEC rides to prominance.

Funny how this is also mainly true for football as well if you take out Kentucky.

Has Missouri been good at basketball at all since joining the SEC? That was supposed to be Missouri's strength coming in, but surprisingly it was football for a few years

Y'all really need to get rid of Anderson

Alabama will have a very good team this year. I think them, state, and Auburn all three come very close if not making it into the tourney.

All 3 will be talented and fun to watch.

I have a feeling the voters are going to be proved plenty wrong with that poll ... as usual.

Auburn and Mississippi State will finish better than 10th and 11th. I can pretty much guarantee that.

Glad to see Bruce has made such an impact on Auburn basketball. Going into year 3, he's catapulted the program from 14th to 11th.

Will you promise to bookmark it, bump it and publicly kiss my hairy butt if I do?

Done deal.

Here you go ...

Preseason scrooster Poll

(Locks for the dance)

1. Kentucky

2. A&M
3. Florida

(Good shot at the dance - 3 of these 5 will go)

4. Arkansas
5. South Carolina
6. Ole Miss
7. Bama
8. Georgia

(Could surprise - play spoiler)

9. Vandy
10. Auburn
11. Tennessee

(Big question marks - not big expectations - coaching issues)

12. LSU
13. Mississippi State
14. Mizzou

Come March I want time to draw a crowd (dedicated thread) while you are busy puckering-up. I want some Farmer1906 tongue on my 4th point of contact.

Not that I disagree but to move them further up you have to drop two below them.

Auburn might sneak up on a team or two ... they are a lot like Tennessee - not loaded with talent but both have great coaches IMHO. I've got Auburn just above UT because Barnes is only in his 2nd year at UT while Bruce is entering his 3rd at Auburn.

MSU is tough to put a finger on because you really cannot find anyone ranked above them who they might be decidedly better than ... Correct? They are blue collar, good players, but not loaded with talent nor are they considered to be exceptionally well coached. They could definitely beat any of the 4-14 on any given night though.

Another thing to consider ... home court momentum with some of these programs right now.

I think that's probably going to prove itself to be how it plays out during the course of the season.

Auburn has more talent than half the league. If they stay healthy this year as opposed to last year they are a lock for the NIT.

They have one of the best coaches in the league.

Calapari
Pearl
Johnson
White
Howland

Those are the 5 best coaches in the league.

Grant?? Anthony Grant?? Yeah, he's a helluva basketball coach if he's leading the Tide from the Oklahoma City Thunder bench. Grant was fired in March of 2015. If you mean Avery Johnson, you're right. Coach Avery is working his arse off righting the sinking ship that Grant left and he's doing a fine job of it too.

Auburn is going to be very talented. 4 and 5 stars up and down the rotation. Probably as purely talented as anyone in the league behind UK, Florida and maybe Arkansas.
