After the first weekend, let's reflect on the seeding of each SEC basketball team for this years NCAAt.

1. Auburn - Right on. Performed as expected. Creighton provided a bit of resistance.
1. Florida - Right on. Slight performance malfunction yesterday.
2. Tennessee - Right on. Double digit first round win. Scrappy win against UCLA.
2. Alabama - Right on. Slight issues first round. Corrected by double digit win in second round.
3. Kentucky - Right on. Took care of business both rounds.
4. Texas A&M - Overseeded. Probably should have been seeded in the 5-7 range. Struggled to end the year losing 5 of its last 7.
6. Ole Miss - Right on. Could possibly make an argument for being under, but lost some games they should have won to end year. Performance in first and second round was great.
8. Mississippi State - Overseeded. Lost 5 of its last 7 games. Lost close one to Baylor. Likely should have been seeded in the 10 range.
9. Oklahoma - Overseeded. OU limped into the tournament. 5-9 over its last 14 games. Likely should have been in Last four play in, or an 11 seed.
9. Georgia - Overseeded. Probably should have been more in the 10-11 range. Propped up by the SEC and only had 4 Q1 wins. Since 1/15 was 6-10 overall.
10. Vanderbilt - Overseeded lean, but possibly right on. Lost to 7 seed by 3. By seeding that is expected. Limped into March losing 9 games since 1/21.
10. Arkansas - Underseeded. Likely not the fault of the committee. Arkansas returned an injured starter which added minutes and fouls. Arkansas finishe regular season with 5 Q1 wins and going 5-2 to close out season.
11. Texas - Right on. Likely pretty spot on. Texas was in the play in and lost.

Beating the two time defending National Champions is not a struggle and they had the game in hand at the end. The final score is deceiving.

State, TX, OK, GA, Vandy were all borderline teams. Arkansas actually played well down the stretch.

7 out of 16 is a record and very impressive.
The five teams mentioned above were top 30-40 teams. Good but not on the level of the upper teams.
Ole Miss & Arkansas played well and Won. Simple as that. Lots of credit to all seven teams. Getting to the SS is tough but they all did it.

Florida absolutely had a tough time yesterday. I wouldn’t say the final score was deceiving at all.

Yeah, we were fortunate to win playing a C game and took UConn's best shot. They hit a buzzer beater 3 to cut the margin to 2, but generally the score was fairly reflective of the game.
