LSU's band won the most recent "ESPN Battle of the Bands" contest, just last year.
LSU also won "Band of the Year" in 1960 (IIRC). CBS filmed marching bands throught the 1960 season, and then picked the one they thought was the best at the end of the season. It was the only time that was ever done.

UF doesn't have the best band, but they get the job done. They also don't pipe in the band over the PA system, I was surprised when I saw this at Tennessee. I think the school is starting to invest more money, they just got new uniforms and a brand new band building, I just don't think we are going to make it a priority we are not a music or art school, you go to FSU for that.

And they all know more about football,basketball,and baseball than the LSU coaches. They love criticizing players even though they have never tried to complete a pass,make a tackle,or throw a block.Half of them envy the athletes,and the other half are sissy boys!

think it was 1970. That was before they became smarter in regards to coaching than the LSU coaches. Takes a lot of hot air to be in the band!

Bama's band is horrible. They've played the same damn songs for like the last 20 years. If i hear Dixie Land Delight one more time, I'll probably hear it again 30 minutes later...

It was cheating when Bear Bryant did the exact same thing 40 years ago according LSU fans, so why is it ok now?

See now we are talking about apples and oranges there are limitations put in place by a governing body that tells you the max amount of schollies you can give for football......nothing like this exists for marching bands

Not when Bear was doing all of that. At that time there was no limit, so any program could have done it.

I weren't alive back then....well about 3 years when Bear was coaching I guess....so I can't really speak to that but if it was within the rules I ain't got no problem with it.
ETA: Is that why Bama has only won one title since the Bear and why they haven't won one period in damn near 20 years.....

OK lets just say that LSU fans accused Bear, aka Alabama football at the time, of cheating and you, aka Bama fan, accuse LSU's marching band of cheating. First, what is wrong with this picture? Second, who gets more credit I would have to go with the people talking about football cheating even if you consider the fact that both sides claiming that the other is cheating is full of shite.
