I was really pulling for LSU. They were the one chance at an all-SEC final. Plus, the LSU baseball fans we encountered in Columbia a few weeks ago were great.

Double elimination on each side of the bracket (4 teams apiece).

Once you get to the final 2, it's best 2 out of 3.

I agree. South Carolina still has the edge over everyone in coaching. And my God are they loaded for the future. But I think UF takes it this year, as I said before the season started.

Oh, and frick Stony Brook and their goddamned Otay sign.

Yeah we will see. Florida was the most complete team when we beat them last year. Should be good on Saturday night.

re: SEC 3 of 8 in Omaha (Posted on 6/11/12 at 10:39 p.m. to KaiserSoze99)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Since the beginning of the 2006-2007 academic year, the SEC has won:

-6/6 BCS titles
-2/6 NCAA Men's Basketball Titles
-3/5 CWS titles (soon to be 4/6)

That's 11/17 of the major mens' titles over the last six years.

By comparison:

The ACC has 2 (2009, 2010 basketball)
The PAC 12 has 1 (2007 baseball)
The Big East has 1 (2011 basketball)
The Big 12 has 1 (2008 basketball)
The WAC has 1 (2008 baseball)
The B1G has 0

Finally someone that knows what they are talking about.

You can throw in another basketball Title if you include 05/06

I agree with this as well. The most complete team doesn't win every time. Sometimes teams get hot at the right time, sometimes coaching is just too much to overcome, sometimes guys play over their heads because they're better in big games.

I'm not trying to slight SCar at all, I just think Florida has the most talented team in the country this year.

I agree wholeheartedly project. Thy were also the most talented last year. It will take a Herculean effort by our team to win this cws, but I've also learned with ray tanners teams anything is possible. This cws is floridas to lose. If they don't win it this year they might not get one for a whle.

LSU could have been 4.

And KY could have been #5 had they not lost that 21 inning grinder to Kent State. It was just too much to overcome out of the loser's bracket.
