Alabama based on past performance and expectations for greatness. Our chances are better for bringing the money back to the SEC simply because we have been there so many times that we know how to act and handle the pressure of big time football.
The world of losing your conference and going to the Natty is over. The playoff has demonstrated that they care about Conf. Championships and Championship games.

Here's a possible Scenario that shows why Auburn may not be in control of its own destiny as well.
-Auburn wins out - 7-1
-A&M wins out - 7-1
-Alabama only loses to Auburn - 7-1
Instead of Auburn going to the SEC championship game, a 3 way tie would likely still allow Alabama to go.
After briefly looking at tie breaker rules, I believe it would go to the team with the Best cumulative Conference winning percentage of non-divisional opponents.
This would likely be Alabama since they played hardest SEC East teams at this point.

Yep, that's the tie breaker that will more than likely determine in this 3 way scenario.
Bama has UT(5-2) and UK (4-3)
AU has UGA(4-3) and Vandy(4-4)
TAMU has UT(5-2) and USCe(3-4)
Bama and TAMU both have UT so it would be who has the better record between UK(4-3) and USCE(3-4) UK beat USCe

Judging by the officiating, if there were a 3 way tie, Alabama would get in.

You are wrong dude do the math. LSU and A&M play each other one of them has to have 2 losses. If you beat Bama, Bama and AU play one of them would have to lose 2. Major in math at LSU

Reading is not a strong suit for several.

LSU & Auburn can't both be 6-1 if Bama is also 6-1.
ETA: NVM, you mean leading up to that last week of games.
Yes, which is hilarious considering that the difference between USCe, UK & Vanderbilt would decide the west champ
frick the East yall are so terrible
