Maybe Team Manning recognized Arch wasn't NFL material and they used the horns to help him build some wealth.
I can't deny it, but typically these type shakedowns are done at A&M.
So much for us being smarter I guess.

Just like that Georgia player told Baker after they beat us in the Rose Bowl: "humble yourself"
UT has a couple years of success and they just think they'll be the new Alabama or Florida because of their money and Lambos. They forgot you gotta have the right culture to sustain that success. It's a long season with plenty of games to be played, but it looks like they'll be taking a step backwards this year.

Georgia was step and step in Recruiting him. They got lucky...
Yes we were and don't think I haven't thanked God many times that we didn't ...mostly on Saturdays.

He got caught up recruiting the stars beside their name instead of ball players

I won't lie - to a LARGE extent I'm sure Texas wanted to "outshine" all the other Universities by bagging Arch Manning, and Sark/CDC were going to do whatever it took to make that happen.
This is your entire universities problem in a nutshell. All hat and no cattle. You work to appear the best. You market your brand like crazy. All for money. It’s the Dallas Cowboys problem. So focused on making money from “what you look like” you don’t care what you actually are.
That is the absolute truth.
