Of course it's satire. These coaches interviews at halftime reveal exactly noting you don't already know. They are completely meaningless. The only two I remember are Bear Bryant's "I'm trying to win the game" (vs Auburn 1982) and Nick Saban's "We're playing like you-know-what and I've gotta go kick some you-know-what" (on LSU radio vs Kentucky 2002).
And that's the point: the SEC amended a freaking federal lawsuit to enter "Just think if we were playing pros" as evidence of LOIC enough to justify expelling LSU from the conference. The SEC took a joke about how he was COMPYING with the SEC rule as a slander worthy of FEDERAL intervention.
It goes to show just how much of last week's insanity was caused by the SEC completely overreacting and not by anything Kiffin or other LSU personnel said or did.

The pregame, halftime and post game interviews are a waste of time. No one ever learns anything new, no coach ever says anything worthwhile besides an occasional smart arse comment that resident cro-magnons chimp out about.
Just play the game, broadcast the plays and run to commercial every 3 minutes. Why we gotta over complicate this with some ditz asking coach how he feels down by 4 scores or how he feels after a win. We all know the answer.

This thread is not discussing whether these interviews are needed or not.
This thread is pointing out the ridiculous reaction of the SEC commissioner to a coach in a similar situation just one week ago and the absolute absurdity of everything that followed.

I agree with you totally, but I have two caveats.
One, Sanky is a douche and doesn’t know how to effectively handle the coaches.
Two, I hate the sideline interview at halftime and in the first emotional seconds immediately after the game, maybe even more than Sarkisian. It’s all been just a job they created for the female sports reporters to make them feel relevant.
