You know what...fine you guys win...JFF is the best QB in the history of the NCAA. I'm going to go ahead and vote for him today for President.

I'm asking why I should care that McCarron is a better NFL prospect than Manziel (which I freely admitted earlier anyway). That fact has no bearing on college success. The majority of great college QBs were not successful NFL players

Would you not define "college success" as winning NC's? Most people would. JM can have all of the stats in the world and he still might not win a NC. In fact, I would say that any team that has to rely on one player to the extent that aTm does...probably won't win a NC. The MOST important stat to ANY team is wins. We had the stats last weekend but didn't get the win. Personally, I'd take the wins.

National titles are a team accomplishment.

Alabama would still be the #1 team in the country with Manziel at QB, because their TEAM is so damn good.

AJ is also a queer little crybaby, so there's that to consider.

Fist off...JM wouldn't be starting ahead of AJ right now. If you think he would you are a tard. Second, JM wouldn't have the stats on that team because Saban wouldn't have to rely on him winning games by himself. He would play within Saban's system of not play at all. Did Saban even recruit JM? Would he ever? He isn't the type QB that Saban recruits.

If AJ was on Texas A&M's roster, he would be third string. So what's your point? Of all FBS teams out there, if AJ and Johnny were on the same roster, Johnny would be given the role 9 times out of 10.

On Bama? I'm sure he wouldnt. Saban favors experience and AJ is a more traditional fit for that offense.

At Texas A&M, AJ would be third string. So it's a sillly comparison to make.

This wasnt my point at all. My point was that Alabama isnt a national title contender because of AJ McCarron.

He might be 4th. Matt Davis(Bama offer) was the 6th best QB recruit in the Nation last year. I think the only unanimous part is that he wouldn't beat out the top 2.

Yes...but he wins. A tear now and then isn't so bad but wtf was that? Looked EXACTLY like my wife when I told her that she needed to consider going back to work after 12 years of "mommy time" with the kids.

My wife was watching the end of the game and she flashed an "I better gtf out of here before he remembers that I never went back to work" look. I've never seen that level of breakdown by a football player. I didn't see that with my 9U Pee Wee team this entire year.

BTW...I need to announce my team won our Super Bowl last weekend! Not a tear was shed on that glorious day!

Oh really...without AJ making every throw (on the last drive) last weekend...you are correct. Bama would not be in the same position right now. Without AJ having a near perfect game last January...Bama is WAY less likely to win that game. AJ fits their system perfectly and that system wins NC's.

With AJ as a starter last year, JM wouldn't have replaced him on either team. Now if JM was on LSU's team last year he would have been a MUCH better option than what we played with. I'm almost certain that Miles wouldn't have played him as a RSF over either QB's that got us to 13-0. He would have been fun to watch in LSU's offense last year. It makes me wonder how many talented kids are stuck in the wrong system with the wrong coach.

Then I'm smarter than you. From an NFL draft perspective...I'd take AJ and I suspect that many NFL teams would do the same. Do some research on the last 10 NFL champions. Which one did Cam or Vick win?? I'll wait for your stupid reply.

And BTW...JM isn't Cam or Vick. Do you think that he has the same talent as either of those two?? Go ahead and make a prediction that he will be the #1 pick so we can laugh at you down the road.

I didn't know this was an NFL board. I didn't mean "pick" as in "draft" I meant pick as "have as a QB on a college roster". With that in consideration, you may want to rethink what you just said.

...but STATS guys, stats! QB stats never fail us, ever. Stats are how we know that Graham Harrell and Timmy Chang are objectively the greatest quarterbacks of all time.

Nick Saban just likes Johnny Manziel because Saban is 3 inches taller.
