re: Saban: A&M has classy fans, it's the first road game that we didn't get booed

I don't get why Saban has a problem with booing the opposing team... Please help me understand this someone!! I'm all for treating opposing fans and teams with respect and class... There's no place in college athletics for violence and offensive gestures but as a former athlete, I loved it when we were booed!! It was a sign of respect!! If the opposing fanbase cheered me, once I took the field, I'd think they were a bunch of (f)Aggies... After the game it's great when the opposing team and fanbase congratulate the opposing team/fanbase and show class but booing is generally all in fun and it's NOT personal...

Texans in general are just nicer people. This is proven time and again.
I'm not sure that's possible, considering the percentage that are Longhorn fans.

Lmao, while you go out your way to make them feel welcome, we entertain them with booze and delacacies........until the game starts and then we boo the shite out of them.
Congrats on the cutest and classiest stadium in the SEC. It truly is a place where opponents dreams come to prosper.

I have to agree. I was watching before the game and i dont know if iv ever seen fans that riled up. I had a bad feeling before kick off due to their fans going absolutely nuts in the stands. They calmed down once the game started

FWIW, much of the design and thought that went in to the new Kyle was based on Bryant Denny which the committee viewed as the best stadium in CFB at the time.
The butthurt from LSU fans on this thread is astounding. This has nothing to do with you and yet half the posts are screaming about your own insecurity. No one said Tiger Stadium isn't a great atmosphere, they aren't even arguing per se it is more or less intimidating. BTW, it's not like Saban has had a lot of trouble winning in Baton Rouge recently.
Saban simply talked about how he would like Bama to have an environment like A&M and that the crowd had a definite affect on the game itself and caused problems for their team. Obviously it wasn't enough so who GAF about a moral victory.
Both A&M and LSU have great environments as does much of the SEC. A&M is all about organized yells and a monster student body in prime seating but being hospitable to guests outside of the actual play on the field. LSU is all about chaos and intimidation. Both are what make college football and the SEC great as very few (if any) venues outside of the SEC truly compare (especially amongst the 100k plus stadiums).

Why so mad that Saban likes A&M? Does it hurt your fee-fees?
Posted on 10/23/15 at 8:14 am to ShaneTheLegLechler
They actually do.....nobody wants laynes and cheddars platters.....your bbq has more smoke than a snoop concert.

I'm not mad. Saban gave y'all a backhanded compliment and y'all don't even realize it

Imagine you get dumped by your girlfriend.
Then, a short time later, when you THOUGHT it was because she just wanted to move to the coast, she's back but with a new boyfriend and acting like you never had anything special.
Then, while talking about how amazing her current boyfriend is in the sack, you see she also makes a comment about the cute guy from out of town - while still ignoring all the posts you tagged him in over and over again.

LOL at the A&M fans gleeful about their head pat from Alabama
Posted on 10/23/15 at 8:34 am to Pettifogger
This shows you the culture of A&M, Saban is applauding them for their hospitality after he just embarrassed them in the 2:30 slot of top 10 teams.......
He has coached at LSU and Bama where it's win at all cost, yet he is applauding the Aggie for just enjoying it all even if they lose.....
It truly shows the cultural differences and why they may never make it to the pinnicle.

Sorry we have respect for Alabama. No wait I'm not sorry.

No one enjoyed losing, we just don't see why you have to be sore losers like LSU fans.

How did you read anything Saban said as "backhanded"? If he was not being complementary, he was only putting down Bama fans.
And I can't believe you guys are still talking about this. He didn't say anything bad about LSU. He didn't say ANYTHING about LSU......oh, that's it, isn't it? He didn't mention LSU. That's why so many nutria jimmies are rustled.

Hes just used to Bama Fans booing opposing teams. Im sure decent fans confused the hell out of him
That is just wrong coming from an Auburn fan. Auburn fans always boo the opposing team, and this year, and in years past have also booed their own team, so don't come on this board putting down Bama fans for doing the same thing that you do.

LSU fans are rarely ever called sore losers @ home.....we've won 93% since 2000.
So this theory is shot.
