Ryan Day would have been fired without the expanded playoff last year

He would have been fired after the Michigan game and wouldn't have won the Natty.

he's 5-5 in post-season games -

3 of those wins in Jan 2025 with Chip Kelly calling plays in his lone season as OC -

Day was calling plays against UMiami last night that resulted in a scoreless first half and 14 total points -

He has a national championship. He has the highest winning pct. of any coach who has coached as many or more games than he has in college football history.

As Don Meredith said about the ifs and buts....

Finebaum literally will say a guy has a program turned around one week and say he's on the verge of losing it all the next week based on one win or one loss these days.

Right now, unless you go with Cignetti due to doing what he's done at a lesser, Day is the second best coach in college football based on accomplishments and what his program has been over the past five years.

So would I. Perhaps you need to read the post again. I pretty clearly said he's the second best coach unless you want to argue Cignetti is second best. Not much doubt about who is best over the past five years.
