Wish list:
Grand Slam: Brent Venables; open the vault and make the man RIIICCCHHH!!! Would be thrilled, even if it meant waiting 'til after the playoffs to nab him. Saban can be his own DC for the playoffs.
Homerun: Kevin Steele, bring him back to UA and add to the Auburn December turmoil and despair.
Triple: Mel Tucker, it was close between he and Pruitt for DC when Kirby left. Great coach
Double: Bob Diaco, 3-4 exp, former HC, broyles award winner at DC, lots of energy, builds tough Ds, currently looking for work after a one stint as Nebraska DC.
RBI single: Tosh Lupoi, great energy, attitude, and recruiter. Deserves a shot.
Runner advances safely on uncaught third strike: CNS to DC; a DL coach has binder, becomes HC.

Besides it's my wish list so f'em.
When he came back on UA staff in 2013-2014, I thought he'd be a potential backfill at some point for Smart as DC.
I know some don't like how he has jumped around, but he is a solid coach that meshes well with Saban's style of D, which is more than half the battle. He is very familiar with the team and would be a smooth transition

LSU also shite on AU fans when Steele was hired. Think it has worked out pretty well for AU so far, though, and I am damn glad he isn't leaving for UT!!!

Nick tends to stick with coaches that have crossed his path before as coaches. We'll see. Tosh is making big bucks but if Pruitt offers him the DC sport a million then he would take that...I would think.
