VT wins this one.

I think a toss up. Their offense was ranking around 101 in scoring offense last year, but they had a top ten defense.

I think they are overrated from lack of competition. Va Tech and the ACC get more respect than they've earned.

hopefully, but FSU thought the same thing.

In FSU's case it had to with cheating in academics and the school was somewhat responsible (because their system had a hole in it easily allowing players to cheat). There's a big difference there.

with Julio, it's a tossup. If he is out, i think Bama's offense really struggles.

The VT offense looked better the last 2 games and it seemed like Tyrod Taylor finally settled down. He will be even better, is a scary athlete, and they return a stud RB in Evans.

Remember, LSU & Saban really struggled against VaTech with a new QB. VT will make the QB make plays.

FSU got hit because they had a history of shenanigans. Bama with Means and TextbookGate, could make this a bigger deal than it should be.

IMHO I thought Bowden reacted appropriately, and the NCAA was being a bunch of douches.

We'll do the same. I think we will have a much better pass defense this year and our run defense will be lights out again.

Julio and Ingram went on a fishing trip with a Auburn Booster and his daughters, Julio and Ingram will likely be suspended for one game (or whatever the NCAA recommends). That should be the end of it.

that game will be like playing a mirror image. They will have a strong D, sucky O. Deciding factor in this game could be the special teams and I'm not real confident on that part. Should be a much better game from a competition standpoint than last years opener.

Given the two teams are basically the same, Alabama will usually win in my opinion. The difference is Saban.

The guy knows how to coach.

I agree, and I thought Saban did the same thing with the textbooks, the big difference is that NCAA doesn't take academic cheating lightly.

I think a minimum, considering it happened out of season and it is being addressed before any games can be played.

From my understanding they won't unless we didn't report it and played the players. Since the school wasn't involved, and as long as we do what the NCAA recommends, the school should receive no punishment.
