If Ole Miss has offered to play in Oxford periodically or 3 for 2, 2 for 1,3 for 1 and Southern has refused,I humbly apologize.

this....but I wouldn't offer a 3-2 series. 2-1 is ok, 3-1 is much better.

It's not like we are just 100% refusing to play USM. They want a 1-1 series and that means giving up a home game every other year. I will take 2 60% attendance game over one 90 % attendance game and an away game.

You asked me for a link to Khayat's garbage and I provided one. So, give me a link to this because I've never read/heard this.

Would take Tulane over USM any day. Tulane would cost us less on the home trip and the Superdome holds a hell of a lot more than The Pebble in Hattiesburg.

The Pebble? Since you are refusing to play there i think somebody at OM respects it more than you.

And when is the last time Tulane half way filled the superdome? I went to a game there a few years ago and there was 20000 people there.

We stopped playing them in '84.....Khayat wasn't there then.

I know when you stopped playing them. You lost to them in '84 and '83 and '80...

He still said OM wasn't going to play USM because the rivalry was too intense or mean spirited.

And, you still haven't provided me with a link about USM demanding a home and home.

Could care less how many Tulane fan's are there. OM fans generally love trips to BR and NOLA. Hattiesburg's stadium only holds 30,000 capacity. We would probably take that much alone to the SuperDome. Hell, we took more than that to the Cotton Bowl.

Who cares what he said about the rivalry. I agree, was probably some bs he threw out. Really doesn't mean shite. Khayat doesn't make the decisions on scheduling. That's the AD's job.

You can go ahead and throw the BS flag and claim victory. I doubt there is a link. But I do know that is what they offer. But whatever. Tell you what....find me a link saying they would take a 2-1 or Oxford only series.

Most of our alumni live out of state anyways.
They have to drive or fly into Oxford.

I really don't care either. It's just that he perpetuates the OM mentality of making excuses about why they don't play.

I can guarantee you that there isn't one. There's not a link saying OM won't accept a 1-1 either. The reason I know this is because OM won't even negotiate a deal.

Good luck this year, Pank. I think the Rebs are going to prove most of the hype to be reall. I really don't flame OM on this board much, other than my name which I've requested to have changed on 3 occasions. And, I've done nothing but defend OM against the P&G glass wearing Tiger fans that say OM is going to suck this year because they always have. That's just garbage. But, OM does nothing but make excuses about not playing USM and I think they should be called out on it.

Was just using it as an example as how well we do travel.

I figure USM would only give us 3-4000 tickets to sell through our website. Tulane would give us a shite ton more than that just because of stadium capacity. That's a shite ton more money for Ole Miss.

Like I said...really don't care about his view of it. He doesn't make the decisions. The AD and Coach are the ones responsible for scheduling.

Then also call out USM for not wanting to do a 2-1 or Oxford only series with us.

They don't demand this because OM won't even come to the table to negotiate. See above.

I wish our series with Southern Miss had never been cancelled. We stopped playing them in 2005.

That and a 25 year history of refusing to play. What do you have to support your position? Oh wait...

Well if one day that MSU or Ole Miss decide to play Southern Miss that means that MSU or Ole Miss will automatically become their number one rival. I'm sure of Tulane was a little more challenging LSU wouldn't want to play them anymore.
