Richt is a good coach, he's just not a great coach. But let's be honest, there are probably only about 3-4 truly great coaches in college football and a bunch of just good ones.

Winning a bunch of games is nice, but there are only two games Richt MUST win every year if he even wants to think about a national title - Florida and Tennessee. Urban came in with the mindset that if he can beat Tennessee and Georgia every year, he would most likely claim the SEC East and everything else would work itself out.

The fact that even with his best teams Richt has been unable to beat both in the same year prevents him from being considered a great coach.
