I wish my fellow LSU fans would learn this. It's amazing how they honestly believe any coach in the nation would jump at the chance to coach at LSU if Miles left.

LSU is a primo job ... if you can handle the pressure. It's got a homogeneous recruiting built-in advantage in-state, high profile SEC membership, tradition, rabid fan base, money running-out the yin yang and plenty of other SEC programs to help keep it grounded from becoming hubristic. (Like Tennessee has, for instance.)

i would just like to know how many threads are started about texas..Just curious.

About as many as there are about Lindsay Lohan on the drama queen gossip boards .... and both are about as deserving given their history of meltdowns and temper tantrums.

"We don't have a lot of financial maneuverability here in the athletic department right now," Hyman said. "But hopefully, when the [SEC] television network comes on in a couple of years we'll have more flexibility."

That's just bullshite Hyman schpeak. He did the said the exact same thing at South Carolina. He's a politician first, an AD second.

I will give Eric Hyman one thing - he's not bad with the numbers. But you can bet if there is a stadium expansion at A&M that ticket prices and seat licenses are about to double and there will be a ton of pissed-off old timers before all is said and done. That was his modus operandi at TCU, he did it at SC and he'll do it at A&M.

He was AD of the Year at TCU, at SC, and he'll be AD of the Year at A&M eventually because he over-preaches that fiscally responsible shite while at the same time handing money to the academics hand-over-fist and getting pats on the back from the Academia organizations within the school thanking him for the bonus money and pay raises.

Nothing you posted sounds all that bad. Increased prices are a necessary evil. There's really no way to get around them. Ags should happily foot the bill if it means sustaining 2012-like results.

Giving money to academia is good. Can't imagine a single AD running in the black not doing it.

Are you guys sure about that $400 million total/$28.5 million per team figure being solely applicable to an SEC Network? It appears that number is being pulled from this article, which is from mid-April, and states that's the total of all television tiers (assuming CBS does not increase):

This was my understanding as well.I would love to know the new numbers negotiated (minus the SEC package)If it is close to $21 million (I can't believe the SEC would take a dime less than than the Pac 12 deal)than the SEC network deal is not even close to what I thought it would be ($7 to $8 million per year)

The SEC is current deal is around $17 mill per term but those aren't the new numbers in this contract. Once again, assuming it's at least $21 million per team in the new deal (without the SEC network numbers)
