The thing that really sucks about the whole "local food" idea in the stadium is that all bids have to be public access and you HAVE to take the best bid.
Anti-trust BS involved with being a public University. If we were private like Vandy, we could tell them to GFY.

Which I'm guessing the Aramark Services wins this every year. I think that is what the university uses for everything when it comes to food services/catering.

Centerplate is the only food service that I've heard us doing business with. And they were mentioned in the report.
But that's only for the primary concession stands. We can still bring in specialized ones such as Corky's, Everglades, etc....
The hotdog and fried food stands will be seperate companies from Centerplate.

You've never seen this logo on trucks around campus?

I know for a fact that Centerpoint sells food at OM sporting events. They might not be the only one's that do it....but I do know that they are there.
For instance.....the Papa John's vendors at the games aren't actually Papa John's....They sell Centerpoint the pizzas at a ridiculously low price and then Centerpoint sells them to the public under the Papa John's logo.
listed on the client map.
The only thing using the OMSports.com search engine for Aramark and Centerpoint only came up with one article....
Mr. Greg Bellini from Centerplate Concessions gave away free popcorn.

Based on what I've found so far....Aramark seems to be doing the Campus dining. They don't seem to have any dealings with the athletic departments.

Whoever said south depot is better than chipotle
south depot is a bunch of gourmet CRAP. I was so dissappointed when I ate there. Chipotle, moes, willys, etc. Are 10X better.

You got my wheels turning and I got kinda curious.
Veazey's gotta Veaz.
I do wonder, though.....with us contracting a company like Centerplate....if we can sort of fudge the bids of the individual companies that they use(i.e. Papa John's). All proposals and bids submitted to OM has to be public.....but Centerplate doesn't have to show anything. They're a private business.
Knowing the GOB system of OM.......I'm betting it would be extremely easy to fudge some bids in order to get some local food places in VHS.
..hmmmm.....

What's the beef with Brookhaven? There are a lot worse places in Mississippi.
I can attest to the fact that we treat more cases of west nile, ARDS, pulmonary fibrosis and any other respiratory malady you can have from Brookhaven. The going joke is to stay away from the Wal Mart in Brookhaven because that is where everybody picks up the crud.
But honestly, Brookhaven is a beautiful old MS town. Amazing that it had such a Jewish culture at one time too.

I have a deductive theory that DCRebel is an RCR writer.
.....I have no factual basis on this theory other than they both live in DC and they both seem to have the gift of educated gab.
.....but back to the question......I tweeted RCR that.
