Ah yes, 2001. The year we beat the SEC champion LSU in tiger stadium, finished 7-4, and were not selected for a bowl game. All the while Alabama, who we had also defeated that year, was selected above us for the independence bowl, posting a 6-5 record.
man this is about as Ole Miss at it gets

Anybody else notice the checkerboard endzones at Legion Field in the '69 OM/Bama game? Found that interesting...

I still can't believe that happened
I did, one of us copied the other and embarrassingly enough I can't remember which but we are both butthurt about it with each other
Wanna say we were first but I'm probably just biased

Maybe it's just rare for a QB to just get a broken arm
not a broken arm but Shaun King played half the season with a broken wrist when Tulane went undefeated in 1998

Thoughts:
1. Great, great show.
2. Archie was the original JFF on the field.
3. His wife was freaking smoking hot as in college.
4. Cooper is a tough SOB. Learned to walk all over again.
5. Peyton was a monumental whiny bitch.
I've cooled on NFL football over the last couple of years, but I watched the MNF game this week. It was a joy to watch Peyton just pick apart the defense before the ball was even snapped. I think he is the best QB out there, by a large margin.

JFF shouldn't even be mentioned in the same sentence as Archie.
Archie Manning stats:
Pct: 52.8%
Yds: 4753
TD: 31
INT: 40
Rating: 108.2
JFF, won't come close in his career!!!

This pretty much confirms you are a MSU or LSU alter.

JFF had better stats than that in his freshman season.
JFF will have better stats just because of the way the game is played today.

Yes but it is due to the way the game has changed. JFF wouldn't have been close if he was playing back in the Archie time frame.

I could watch this over and over. I loved it.
The part about his Dad really got to me.
Even though as a little kid I watched Arch beat us in '68 and '69, I still liked him; and was very happy when the Saints drafted him (selfishly - imagine if he'd gone to L.A. or N.Y. or Dallas.)
Archie was one of my idols growing up.

Agree, I like the info on his dad. You dont ever hear anything about Archie's father. I bet if he were alive today, boy... Suicide is such a horrible thing.

That was a moving documentary. If this is an example of the quality of programming we are going to see on the SEC network, the network will be a huge success.
JFF may be a great QB but Archie is class through and through.

He's right though. Ole Miss beat LSU and Bama and was one game better than them, but don't get a bowl bid ???
