florida played both a&m and lsu early in the year. LSU had a bye week before bama and a&m had bama the week after lsu. not saying that one is better than the other, but that is something to consider. against a&m, bama gave up 20 points int he 1st quarter, only 9 the rest of the game. we were pretty clearly hung over on defense, having played for 40 minutes on d against lsu.
edit. just noticed you guys had a bye before lsu, and played kentucky the week before. so 2 weeks off
Florida also played South Carolina and Georgia back to back mid season.

South Carolina had just got done playing a very physical game against LSU in Tiger Stadium the week before they played Florida.

Florida also had played LSU and Vandy the two weeks before.

Yeah, against a bunch of high school teams.
LSU and Georgia?

LSU gained 435 yards against your precious defense, and really our play-calling on the last drive gave you the game.
Yes, your defensive play-calling was terrible.

We get more first down instead of trying a FG, it's 3 kneel-downs...
But you didn't.

Nope. Cuban cigar today, just like after the November 3 tilt.

South Carolina was far more exhausted than Florida was. They had yet to have their bye week and had just come off a VERY physical game with LSU and a semi-physical game with Georgia. Florida, while having played LSU and Vanderbilt, were in much better shape because their bye week had come just two weeks before.

Glad you have you've got each respective team's level of conditioning and exhaustion accurately tracked throughout the season, that's a valid tool in these discussions. I forgot to add that everyone HATES Bama and plays their best game of the year against them. Unlike Florida who noone gets up for.
I take it back, Bama clearly had a better D than Florida.

You don't have the nations best D. LSU's and Florida's are better.
Not according to, ya know, the facts.
Try these facts Trey: If you take all the crap teams off the schedule, and just consider FBS opponents with winning schedules, then Florida and LSU have the two best defenses in the country. Alabama? #9.

Way to twist the numbers in your favor. Our D is once again the best in the country. DWI.

I am just saying. You guys ripped MetryTiger for arguing that Bama's ranking is padded from the crap game they played.
This turns out to be true.
Note that this is different than saying Bama played a weak schedule. Rather, the facts indicate that Bama didn't do as well against good competition as LSU and Florida.
So there you go. Metry was actually right.
In one statistical category, on the aggregate.

Its number 1 in total, scoring, and rushing.

Also, I will go ahead and speak to the OP's assertion that Bama's D will be better next year than it was this year:
Better hope Milliner comes back, because a d-backfield of Belue, Sunseiri, Perry, and Fulton ain't gonna cut it.

False. Alabama is #2. Notre Dame is #1.

Based on what, A&M's performance against us? We had just played an emotional game in Death Valley against the only team that could match our physicality and talent. Don't think for a second that Bama was giving it their all, because that would've sent you Aggies back to Texas begging for your Big XII spot back so you can pretend Sean Porter is > CJ Mosley some more.
