Not because I'm satisfied with this year's team.

I just don't see any hot replacements out there for him.

Kirby Smart? Has no head coaching experience. Could turn out to be another Muschamp.

Memphis and Houston's head coaches? Not enough head coaching experience yet.

And don't give me any of these so-called big names like FSU's head coach, or Gary Patterson. Those guys aren't going anywhere.

Georgia fans will be best rewarded by being patient. We need to be grateful for 9 or 10 win seasons until the 1 year UGA gets a bunch of lucky breaks and wins a championship.

Dooley suffered through lots of stretches worse than anything Georgia's gone through with Richt. 1969-1970, 1972-1974, 1977, 1979.

In 1979 Georgia lost the first 3 games of the season, then lost a homecoming game to a winless Virginia team 31-0! The very next year Georgia won the national championship.

Patience, grasshopper.

Of course, if UGA goes 6-6 next year, Richt should be fired. But I don't see firing him, if he can win 9 or 10 games with a freshmen qb.

Incidentally, Georgia has the 2nd best winning percentage against SEC west teams over the past 5 years. Better than LSU. Richt > Miles.

Hows that working out for ya'll? Not trying to be a dick, but I still can't believe ya'll didn't win it with Stafford, Moreno and AJ.

ETA: I would stick with Richt almost soley because of Eason and Pruitt. I think you let Richt coach Eason through his 3 years for sure.

Richt beats Auburn and therefor keeps his job. It's always been like that at UGA and always will be

You are either a fantastically subtle alter or just delusional.

This whole post is garbage, plus what you said the other day

There's a lot of whining over on Dawgrant about Georgia being taken to OT by Georgia Southern. Not me. I'm excited

No UGA should ever be excited, for any reason whatsoever, about what happened Saturday. At all.

the same reason LSU lost 3 games with a 3,000 yard passer, 1,000 yard rusher, and two 1,000 yard receivers.

Defense stunk.

In my opinion Georgia did win it all in 2007.

Before the play-off system existed, the national championship was an opinion.

In 2008 Georgia was not a complete team...had no defense.

A lot of true fans would disagree with you about getting excited when Georgia wins.

Georgia won and beat a good team last Saturday. It was thrilling for all true Georgia fans.

Only spoiled losers would complain about that victory.

Statements like this make me cringe. That 08 team had ZERO offensive line and was completely wiped out by injuries. I think there were double digit season ending injuries to starters/solid contributors that year. I don't care how good you are at the skill spots, you can't do dick without and offensive line and depth on defense.

sorry that I, a UGA fan, want us to be the best we can and compete for titles while your ilk are dancing in the streets over an overtime win against our littlest little brother who just became an FBS team 2 years ago.

If Richt couldn't win the East this year with the hot mess that is the SEC East, I don't see him winning it ever again.

So yes, keep him as long as you want to be irrelevant.

I'd sacrifice WG's dog to have him calling plays on offense again.

The bottom line is he'll be there as long as he wants to be barring some implosion which I honestly don't foresee. In all likelihood he will be leaving on his own terms.

That being said, and this is just my reading of the tea leaves, I think it may be sooner than most people think.

I've thought that for 15 years but now I don't necessarily agree.

Georgia officially finished 2nd that year.

Georgia would likely have been favored in a head-to-head match up with LSU that year.

How is that retarded?
