There are probably a ton of walkons out there that no one wants to give a scholarship to that you all can "save" to have start for you if it's a really great advantage. Many can still take advantage of the Covid year as well. Go get 'em.

I wonder if you might see this more now that NIL is a thing. You can support a family playing CFB now with a moderate level of success.

The age complaints are kind of a compliment.

It went from laughing about his looks and stature to ‘hey, no fair! He’s older than everyone else! Of course he’s good, he’s 25!!’

Didn’t Chris Weinkie win the Heisman and a title when he was like 47 years old?
Who GAS?

I remember back in the late 90s when Chris Weinke won the Heisman at like age 27. It was bullshite then, because of his legit cognitive and physical advantage.

There probably ought to be an age limit for some of this stuff. Bennett is a fine QB, and hats off to him. But fricker is older than Kelly McGillis.

It's like that episode of Seinfeld when Kramer is champion of the dojo. Everyone is impressed until they find out the dojo consists of 12 year old's.

Older QBs (and some other positions) in CFB used to be more common with football/baseball guys who tried their lot at baseball first. I think it was more prevalent a couple of decades ago because pocket passers were more prevalent in CFB then. (That’s just one thought; there may be other dynamics involved.)
