Also the fact that coaches use your "Old South" image as a reason for not winning is just an excuse to keep their jobs. Fact is it's hard to win consistently in Mississippi due to 3 major D1 colleges and 14 Jucos along with many smaller colleges. Too many for our population it is too hard to recruit enough top players from instate, and not winning very often makes it hard to pull out of state recruits away from schools like Bama, auburn, arkansas, Florida, and LSU.

We would have never been in this position if y'all had just enrolled in the a&m department that was created at Ole Miss, but no y'all had to go create a whole new school.

shittiest team in the SEC

That was an ignorant statement, ya'll have been no more relevant than we have since the 60's. At least we have been to Atlanta. oh and which bowl did yall go to this year? I didn't intend for a pissing match I just commented on your coaches using that excuse for not winning. I realize it is about your University moving forward, I only was commenting on that one part because just because if you get rid of the Old South image, doesn't mean you will eventually start winning and own the SEC in everything.

It's not only about winning on the field. That mascot was also an image associated with our school. I personally would say that we have been winning as a school in general ever since we disassociated ourselves with Col. Rebel.

Your point is? I said getting rid of the Old South image DOESN'T mean you will eventually own the SEC

No, but we might gain an edge on State.

Ole Miss is known of a lot more nationally than State is, and if there are no longer any racist symbols to associate with us then Ole Miss would seem much more appealing.

Not saying that is actually going to happen, but it's possible.

So did we. We never suggested to the contrary, in fact.

We do feel that it helps the school overall in both athletics and academics, but we didn't say that it'd make us the most dominant SEC program EVAR!!!

I honestly don't see a difference now compared to before all this political correctness stuff happened. Academics were steadily increasing in the early 2000s, athletics had their share of minorities in all sports. And that is also how it is now.
