We tried to tell you that one day Saban would retire and reality would strike. But you didn’t want to listen to us because you were by god Alabama!
Anyone over the age of 40 or so knew we would be here or somewhere similar eventually.
Instead of a slow decline, we opted for the bridge suicide approach apparently.

Bama is coming back to reality. Get used to it.

I'd give that coach time. They should go ahead and extend him 10 more years!

No contradicting. It’s true you have a great brand. But you’ve also had the luxury of the two greatest coaches in college football history. Reality is, you ALL thought you were bigger than Saban and that isn’t true.
Christ, you did it again. Is Bama more than Saban or isn’t it? You contradict yourself every sentence, you’re a fricking mess

Bama is bigger than saban .. we picked a successful coach but in pac 12 which is wuss

Maybe younger fans who only know the Saban years. I’ve been watching Bama since the late 60s. Lived through Perkins, Curry and the Mikes. Pretty humbling. I wasn’t born yet but most of the 50s before Bryant came were dark days for Alabama football. 1955 0-10, 1956 2-7-1, 1957 2-7-1.
Yes, we have come to expect greatness because of a 100-year history. But we know it can go away. Anybody who thinks Bama fans don’t know bad times is probably under 40 years old.

Agree with op. I know most here dont follow world football (soccer) but bammer is just like Manchester united. They've each only really won with 2 legendary coaches and the rest of the way have been underperforming and/or overrated

How do you think Alabama got both of those coaches?
Bama got Saban when LSU turned Saban down when he asked to return to LSU. Worse AD decision by Skip Bertman

WADE THOMAS BEAR STALLINGS SABAN ALL NATTIES BOOM BAMA WITH A DECENT NON GAY COACH WE BACK ON THE NATTY TRAIN LOOK IT UP FO THE MATH

It’s obvious what will happen next. I’m not sure when next is because Bama won’t spend 70M to get away from Deboer.
I think he’s got a couple more years.
But they will throw the bank at Kirby. If they don’t succeed, things will get interesting.

They are...they have 12 recogized NT(claim 18), 30 SEC titles, and over 950 wins.
I mean...Saban got 6 while at Alabama and Bryant got 6 while at Alabama. So of the 18 claimed, 12 were won by those two. Take those away, and they are very close to everybody else.
LSU and Georgia have 4 each claimed and could reasonably be counted. Of the 18 Alabama claim 1 is counted that even a lot of Alabama fans say is a stretch. So of 18, 12 are by those two coaches, 1 can be discounted (1941)...so that actually leaves 5 outside of those two coaches.
As for SEC titles...Bryant won 13 SEC Titles and Saban got 11. So take those two coaches out of the equation and they have 6 SEC titles, well below LSU and Georgia, and the same as Florida.
I get it. You can't erase history, and Alabama has a history everyone envies. But what he said is not incorrect, either.

Outside of Bear and Saban, Alabama ain’t shite.

How? Because at the time they both got hired Bama really sucked....so there was no place to go but up. And they are the two greatest in college football history.
All good things come to an end. Oh well.
