Reminds me back in 1985, Magee, MS a 3A High School team with 33 players traveled to Pensacola to play Escambia High School who was a 6A Florida High School with a RB named Emmitt Smith. Escambia was ranked #1 in the Nation by USA Today.

There are more than a few small MS high school football teams that can play with virtually anyone on a given Friday night.
