Best: LSU
Worst: Tennessee and A&M
Overrated, but not bad by any means: Alabama and Ole Miss
Meh: Kentucky and Texas
Underrated: South Carolina and Vanderbilt

Bama and Arkansas are pretty close.

Auburn alum...
- Alabama I really like. Very Antebellum. What you think of as a college campus IMO.
- I Love The Hill at Arky.
- Auburn is unique because it seems the same person designs all the buildings. We use the red ivory brick for everything. My Mom worked at Funchess Hall and you'd think it was built five years ago as far as the construction materials.
- UF seems really gerrymandered.
All I got.

Most of these schools have at least some areas that were built out before ww2 that are nice. The 70s and 80s were brutal on a lot of college campuses (literally, architecturally!) and schools with massive expansions in that era don’t look as good.

Once UGA tears down all its 1950-1970 architecture in Middle campus, basically the undergrad science buildings, we will have a nice blend of really old and really modern.

Like between the football stadium and the RV lot or bar? What are you even talking about?

Never seen it, but from what I know of the school’s history probably a lot of post 1950 expansion, which…not a good time to be building university buildings.

UGA and UF are probably the worst as far as contrast go, but it's been a while since I've been to either. That's also only within the SEC- the entire Big Ten is architecturally chaotic.
I know Alabama has redone basically everything from that era by now- Russell Hall is probably the best example

Yeah, some of those Big10 schools don’t look good at all. Michigan’s law quad is a special place. Rest of the main campus is a mess.

Of the ones I've been to in the B10, Indiana is probably my favorite and that actually shocked me. PSU is fine, but I like it mostly due to familiarity. Big Ten towns are legitimately way better than SEC towns, but the campuses are nowhere close in beauty.

I obv know Mizzou campus but this guy wants people to compare them all. My comparisons would reflect the areas between the football stadiums and the RV lots or bars.

I went to work on business in Ann Arbor - biggest deal I ever signed btw - and that campus reminded me of a larger version of Auburn. Because there was red brick everywhere. I don't know what it says about my University, I didn't see the Michigan Law Quad. I liked it though. I got a tour of Michigan Stadium. Big-10 stadiums are just built different. They seem to construct them in the dirt and as low as possible, elevation wise.

I’ve seen them all except for A&M. If we’re doing campuses alone and not the town, it’s really hard to rank them.
In this day and age, every university has recently spent millions of $ to make their campus beautiful. They all look good.
I’m amazed when I go to Starkville at how far that campus has come in the last 20 years. It may still be dead last, but it’s not a bad campus.

The town of Ann Arbor is great. Even with 7-8 months of winter. The stadium is great. I was there in 97 when they split the title. Not loudest crowd, but sitting in a sea of 100k+ people in a basic bowl is just a different experience.

I do agree with that. A&M campus that I’ve seen and its stadiums look like the strip malls in Southlake and Keller. Nice for strip mall but horrible for campus.

quote:IDK. You seem to be fixated on the athletic facilities. Which are great BTW. I'm just saying many of us graduated from these schools and know the campuses. We walked them. We may give a small contribution to the major we graduated from. But I honestly may be missing your point. You are asking specifically about the campus areas between the RV lots and bars? I'm not familiar with those areas, even at Auburn. I don't think Auburn even has that because the RV lot is in the old Memorial parking lot. What do you have at Missou?

Mizzou up hill walk to stadium but down on way back. Close to nothing. Was called reactor field back in my day.
My point is people know their own campuses, but OP wants comparisons and who the hell checks out the campus on game road trips?

I would. How would you even know where to park? Wouldn't you like to check out the campus? Am I crazy?
