Holy shite...he couldn't care less but you can tell he's getting salty by calling me a "bitch".

Says the guy up at o dark thirty on the Gator forum rustled in a Florida thread, and now finds himself in another Gator thread during the day. Just trying to help yourself sleep, kiddo?

I think the jury is still out on Mullen but I think he has a high floor. I don't know what his ceiling as a coach is but I've been wondering that since the last coaching cycle when his name was coming up for both UT and UF.
Personality wise, he's a lot weirder than I expected. He reminds me of Butch that way as well as in the fact that he doesn't quite get how to communicate well with the press. But none of that matters to anyone other than rivals/opponents as long as he wins games....
I think Mullen has a lot to prove this year. Can he get Franks to perform consistently and solidify his QB whisperer image? Franks has a live arm and if he can then Florida can go far this season. Can he avoid dropping games where he has more talent? Can he instill more discipline in the program or is he an Urban clone (the offseason hasn't looked great for him on that score)? Those are the sort of things to look at this season.

Dan mullen is towards the top in the SEC. He has a way to go before he would be considered great IMO. He honestly needs to grow up a lot IMO. His ego and attitude will be the downfall for him if he doesn't.

I agree to some extent. Most Gator fans and I debated to high hell because he seems to put a lot of emphasis in "leadership" at the QB position and waits way too long to replace them. Franks had two terrible games last year (Georgia and Missouri) and we waited until the Missouri game was well out of hand before he even thought of trying the back up (who subsequently entered the game and outperformed Franks).
I kind of miss that from Spurrier.
Danny Wuerffel
@SC_HBC Spurrier to me once after an interception: "Danny, It's not your fault...It's my fault for putting you in the game." (You're out.)

No one would be in your thread if you weren't crying about Daddy Mullen.

Hope I wasn't too Mullen hater with my post lol.
Hes a QBs coach, it's not hard to believe he acts like this otherwise. I'm not here to start shite, but I've said in the past there are rumors that hes a dick. Not a bad thing in a college coach, but not good for a Mullen at Florida.

I don't really worry that he's a dick for the most part, it seems to work in some ways -- but I would like to see some flexibility in the future. Sometimes QBs need to take a seat and reflect on what's going, gather their senses and go back to playing.
But Franks had clearly regressed for two games and really, in the beginning of the SCAR game he was garbage. (In Mullen's defense, the backup broke his foot the week of SCAR.)
That is the only thing I would like to change about him.

Who do you have coming up after Franks?

Emory Jones
RS SO by next year, developing very well but is more willing to run than Franks.
Anthony Richardson (2020)
Carlos Del Rio (2021)
Our official backup is Kyle Trask, but he's much more of a game manager than an actual Dan Mullen type of QB. That's the lineup for the most part for the next few years.
2020 will probably be EJ/Trask, AR15.

Do you have any opinion on your coach being a clown?
