Don't feed the troll.

Everyone knows the five rap regions of America are the East Coast, West Coast, Midwest, Southern (Atlanta) Rap & finally Texas (H-Tine) as its own.

Texas has had plenty of great rappers, and everyone else has been stealing our style for years now.

I know who all of those are the vast majority of them are terrible. Don't ever mention Slim Thug or Paul Wall in a rap thread again. Just don't. Or Geto Boys or Lil Flip. They are not good.

I'm not going to shift through the thread to find your responses but I'd like to know who you think from Louisiana makes better rap music than Slim Thug and Paul Wall, other than Lil Wayne, Kevin Gayes, or Boosie (on a good day).

I don't care about Louisiana rap being in the top whatever. I just think it's funny that some of you consider that good hip hop.

And Kevin Gates is terrible.

But Curren$y, Wayne (you can't just exclude one of the most famous rappers on the planet because you feel like it son- sorry, he's from LA), Jay Electronica, Juvenile and Mystikal come to mind as better than those that I listed (Paul Wall, Slim Thug, Flip, Geto Boyz) IMO.

I'll be the first to say UGK is better than any of the ones listed from either state

I never excluded Lil Wayne, he had the best run of mixtapes of all time I've got every Drought / Dedication on CD, and he inarguably dominated the hip-hop scene from at least Carter II to No Ceilings.

Kevin Gates is awesome, BR should be proud.

I did not know Jay Electronica was from Louisiana so that definitely changes my views of what constitutes LA rap lmao

My taste in hip hop is a little more old school I guess. I don't hate Gates, but it's not my cup of tea.

The cream of the crop for Texas would be in no particular order: UGK, Scarface (even if you hate Geto Boys man is a legend), Zro, Lil Keke, South Park Mexican, Trae the Truth, Devin the Dude, Big Hawk, and Big Moe. All of them have serious bars.

How do you have old school rap taste but not like Geto Boys? They are the original southern rap group. Unfortunately a lot of people outside Houston wouldn't have known about them without Office Space

We'll take our rap capital of the U.S. and move it elsewhere then.

I can entertain an opinion that Nelly sucks. Or Arrested Development. Or many different rap groups/artists. But not the Geto Boyz. Not now. Not ever. Some opinions are just wrong. Lol

Someone doesn't like the geto boys. Wow. That's got to be a troll sec rant style

Outkast and the get boys are the only people worth a shite on these lists.

I do like the cash money brothers crew, juvenile, etc when they first came up. They were different. But current hip hop is just so bad an unoriginal now. But I guess when people think Kanye west is the goat and is treated like a genius that is all you have to say about the current state of hip hop
