They are making some pretty serious upgrades to change the "not nice" part of your statement. Things like widening concourses, revamping the entrances all around the stadium, updating the outside(adding a whole bunch of brick and glass), updating the scoreboard, etc etc. It started taking place a few years ago and will continue after the season for the next few years until 2012 I think.
Nice to hear that. Just need to get rid of the tacky looks-like-a-roadside-diner VOLS sign in addition to the upgrades, and the stadium will be nicer. I don't have a problem with the checkerboard endzones, but the sign I referred to previously needs to go.
BTW, for those of you talking about steepness, have you been in the upperdecks at Williams-Bryce?

I'm 99% sure the sign is gone, but I can't find where I read it.

No kidding? That honestly would be a bonus. Maybe it's already gone? I haven't been to Neyland since 1995.

I agree. Tiger Stadium, though big and intimidating, is a bit rundown.
I am sorry but I agree. Its getting to be close to embarresssing how much nicer other SEC schools stadiums are compared to LSU.
Tiger Staduim looks old and trashy compared to other SEC venues.
And the loud part is a bit overrated. Its loud, but not as loud as it used to be.
Its a little above average on loudness. (sometimes)
The better the program does, the more elite ticket buyer and less noise. When LSU sucked arse, we had the loudest because it would be a bunch of drunk arse Acadian coonasses raising hell all night. Still alot of fun though!

Looks pretty nice. I hope the orange on the columns is temporary though.

Hard to rank the other stadiums when I've only been once or twice. I'll rank the noise/atmosphere level from the games I attended.
1. UF (08)
2. Auburn (06)
3. Tennessee (06)
4. Auburn (08)
5. Ole Miss (05)
6. South Carolina (08)
7. Arkansas (Little Rock, 08)
8. Vandy (05)
Will make it to Bama and hope to make it to UGA this year.

There is no question! War Memorial is what adolescent stadiums hope to be when they are all grownz up.

Waste Management Stadium.
You know you are jealous.

Loud does not equal nice. War Memorial Stadium in LR is loud, but it's a dump.
RRS is one of if not THE nicest stadium in the SEC. I've been to all of them.

Considering the horrible shape TS is in and how much better most SEC stadiums are now, do you think LSU will ever build a new Tiger Stadium?
Posted on 7/27/09 at 4:38 pm to bcshog
Wrong! WMS is awesome! Just ask Shields and/or Yarnell.

K, your "horrible" shape comment makes more sense now.

? The East upper and all its suites are 9 years old and the West along with its pressbox and stadium club is brand spanking new. And every chair back seat in the stadium is only a couple years old as well. Since when do a few broken dorm windows on the outside and the exposed pipes in the inside make a stadium horrible?
Compared to other stadiums in the SEC, its towards the bottom. The Suites are nice but mostly we have only patched pot holes.
I am talking a completely new and state of the art TS. Like they did with Alex Box perhaps.

I have been to TS about a half dozen times and JH too many to count.
I think JH is consistantly louder for a big game. Period.
I have been to a half dozen games at JH and sat near your student section several times also. They sucked. You also use a cheerleader with a mic to lead the cheers. It is nothing compared to the student section at TS. I have seen the LSU band take over JH before. I have no idea how JH can be louder when the visiting team's band is running the show.
