Everyone is going to pick their home stadium first (except for Vandy or Miss State), so why bother with this?

I think this thread has great potential. I think I need to start a new one ranking the college towns.

Rank the college towns but you have to leave your own off the list

Are we talking about the staduims being nice or historic, loud or what?

Example:
LSU is no where near being the nicest but is
the #1 loudest.

What I always wonder about is when people say LSU is loud, they're always saying, "watch a game at Death valley at night". It's like LSU gets it's rep for being loud mainly from it's night games, while the Swamp is just known for being loud period. I'm sure LSU is loud at day games too, but it just seems like whenever fans are making their case, it's always night games.

FWIW, I think the Swamp is at least tied with LSU for loudness.

I've only been to Bama, Vandy, and Miss St., but Bama will have one of the elite stadiums in the country starting in 2010. If I had to choose anywhere to watch a away game for Bama it'd be at LSU. Followed by UT.

Did you sit in the new section? It looks good but it's not very functional. Way to steep.

No, it's the way it's designed. The structure basically traps sound and sends it down to field-level.

Its because all the drunk arse cajuns have been drinking all day and by the time a night game rolls around, its borderline anarchy.

The swamp is so loud due to structure. The stands are practically right on top of the players and their is almost no sideline. I sat behind the AU bench on about the 4th or 5th row once in the mid 90's. Unbelievable how close you are to the players. Then the stands are built straight up including the 3 tier endzone. It does a great job of trapping noise and that is why it is generally considered the loudest.

Along those lines, if we are ranking noise level:

1. Swamp
2. Jordan Hare
3. LSU
4. Samford
5. Neyland
6. Bryant Denny

If we are talking "prettiest", I put Bama and Arky at the top of the list.

Bryant-Denny is one of the nicest, clean stadiums.

LSU is loud but dirty and old.

Ole Miss has a nice place.

Florida is great!

Auburn & UT are pretty nice too.

SEC wise, I would say as far as being a really nice stadium;

1)Florida
2)Bama
3)Georgia
4)Tenn
5)Auburn
6)Ole Miss
7)Kentucky
8)LSU
9) South Carolina
10) Arkansas
11)LSU
12)Vandy
13)Miss State

Best football expericence is a totally different story!

1)LSU
2)Florida
3)Alabama
4)Auburn
5)Tenn

It is...but it's still fun to argue about it.
