Tough to rank them with so many factors, but a very interesting idea.
Some combination of:
academics
athletics
football
men's basketball
tv markets (maybe)

Except it's not a flame thread. TV markets drive modern college athletics. Even more than wins.
So you rank the team with the highest tv ratings on ESPN the past 10 years 8th? Makes sense

Uhh..OM should be at the bottom. At least we've had baseball success over the years. We've also had better basketball over the years, just not in the last two seasons.

TAMU is a quality school and got us into TX.

you're slowly crossing the line from just a "bad" poster into the rarefied air of horrible posters. Congrats

I wanted them. Actually, I would say the vast majority of the SEC wanted aTm. Adding the Texas tv market was absolutely huge. We won't see the benefit for several years, but it is there.

GTFO. Are you serious right now? You really think MSU baseball has even a slight share of the conversation?

Lets rank states in terms of overall importance to the union. Working our way up.
I'll start:
#50: Alabama

You could certainly make the case.

You're right. I'm 10 times the poster you've ever even thought about being.

Cool. Wouldn't be far off. Alabama matters very little in the real world. A lot in the CFB world. Which is why we gloat about it so much.
