Yeah, Franklin does come off as cheesy and fake, but that goes for most coaches these days.

I'm just not sold on him. The stuff he's doing seems fake and desperate. If he doesn't continue "winning" will that wear thin with recruits.

Like What, though? I don't find his offense all that gimmicky. Defense isn't half bad either. I like the passion he brings and if you're talking about all the weird shite he says about UF, UGA, and UT then yea, it could get old, but I think he understands the different attitudes required at a Vanderbilt and a Georgia.

I mean it beats him saying hey, we're Vanderbilt, we'll give it a good try.

ETA: Also, he's on my list but I'm not saying he's #1.

I'm getting the feeling that among the more passionate/football crazy Missouri fans Pinkel is a dead man walking. Is that fair? If so, is there an identified favorite to replace him?

If I were a Mizzou fan the guy I would take a really hard look at is Pat Fitzgerald. He's young, has done a lot at a difficult school to win at, and has connections in Illinois (where MU needs to recruit) on the basis of his present position at Northwestern

They cannot have Pat. Not that he'd leave anyway, he's worshipped in Evanston....and will one day be in Athens.

I don't think Fitzgerald would leave his alma mater for Missouri. I think he would only leave for a big-time job at a place with tons of resources (Big 6, A&M, USCw, UTx, etc.) or the NFL.
